The first kiss.
A sweet memory. Temptation, tingles.
Oh, but what an agony when it is yet to come, and it is all you can think about.
Nicole had called Dan after the meeting, and he invited them out that night. The meeting had gone well. And they would start recording their singel next week. At the club they all had a wonderful time. Elisa and Nicole danced a lot. Darren and Daniel watching. Darren saw Elisa smile, laugh and dance. It seemed like everything she did was sensual. When they sat down and talked, he didn`t listen to the words. Just the sound of her, and his eyes where focused on her lips. Wondering what they would taste like. Soft, pink....they reminded him of cherry. She probably tasted better. He wondered if her blue eyes would get darker when he kissed her. As they walked home that night. Darren grabbed her hand and slowed down a bit so Dan and Nic got a bit ahead of them.
He walked in thoughts for a while, trying to put up his courage to kiss her. He stopped turned to her, laid his hand on her cheek and leaned down and kissed her.
He jumped a step back; "Wow, that was wow!" Suddenly overwhelmed with the feeling. "Ah...that`s...that.
He didn`t let her finish, but leaned in again and kissed her as he held her tight. They felt the temperature rise, as their lips were locked together. Elisa wasn`t sure anymore where he began and she ended. He just seemed to surround her. All in her centered around Darren
"I`m not sure if I can walk now" Elisa said as they broke the kiss. "Ditto" Darren laughed. "So luv, should we crawl back to the house?" He kissed her again, and they walked hand in hand back to his house.
The next day. Nicole had a "Date" with Daniel. They were going out to a concert, and perhaps dinner first. Elisa sat in her garden watching her dog play with a bone she had given it. She couldn`t help but feel a little abandoned. Darren hadn`t called her, and he knew that Nicole was out with Daniel.
Maybe he didn`t want to spend time alone with her. She sat there, listening to music. When she heard the doorbell. She went through the kitchen to open the door. "Hey" It was Darren. Looking quite incredible in a black leather jacket. "I was just wondering if you might be in the mood to spend some time with me alone" He said with a smile. "Off course. Come on in". Elisa said, suddenly nervous. Wondering what she were supposed to do. Should she kiss him. Or shouldn`t she...she didn`t want to scare him away by being all over him as soon as he walked in the door.
He let her out of her agony by kissing her cheek as he walked by her. " I missed you today!" He said close to her ear. His voice sent shivers down her spine. "I missed you too! Please, have a seat. Want some coffee, cola, wine...."
"Coffee would be fine, thanks" Darren interrupted. "Oh God" she thought. "I have to stop rambling". Her thoughts were interrupted by her dog that came running inside, and jumped up at Darren. "Leyla, get down. Let the man have some peace". But Darren lent over the dog letting it lick his ear."She just want to say hello. She seems to be more fond of me than you. You didn`t lick my ear, or wag your tail!"
Elisa blushed and turned away to make the coffee. "You are cute when you blush" The words made her blush even more.
They sat in silence for a while, a little insecure about what to say to each other. Darren broke the silence. "Elisa, I just want to say to you that I am really interested in getting to know you better. Ever since I saw you in the park I liked you. I can`t explain it...but I just feel that we were supposed to meet."
Elisa looked in his eyes. Not sure how to answer at this. "I really like you too Darren. And I would like to find out more about you."
They just sat there looking in eachothers eyes, and smiled. Knowing that something rare was happening between them.
"I think I found my best friend" Darren said silent
"What?"
"Oh nothing. Just a song I`m writing on". Elisa nodded her head. "Want to sit on the backporch for a while? It`s such a beautiful night."
Darren sat beside her. He laid his arm around her as they watched the stars. She leaned her head on his shoulder, and her hair had this fresh scent of flowers. He was intoxicated by her presence.
"What are you thinking about?" Darren looked at Elisa. "I`m just thinking about this last couple of days. It has happened all so fast.And I am anxious about getting started at the studio, but I am also terrified."
"Why?" Darren changed his position so he faced her, still managing to have his arm around her.
"I`m afraid that I might not make it, and the last thing I want is let Nicole down. She is so talented, and deserves this opportunity to show the world. And I don`t want to ruin that for her."
"I don`t believe you will ruin it. You depend on her. She depends on you. You are a team. If you are nervous about this, my guess is that Nicole is too. And Nicole isn`t the only one with talent in your group. If she were, then she would be called to the studio alone. But I understand you. I can remember what it was like. The only thing I can tell you is to believe in yourself. Know that this is what you want. Not for anyone else, but for you. I can promise you that you will be less frightened when you guys get started in the studio." Darren looked her straight in the eyes
Suddenly she felt more at ease, getting faith from him. She leaned in and softly kissed his lips, he let out a little sigh. Elisa lent away from him still looking in his eyes. "I one kiss you managed to make me feel more than I have felt in my whole life". Darren looked at her, he got so moved by the honesty in her voice. And the vulnerability in her eyes. Not knowing what to say, he just stroke one finger down her chin. "It`s late, I should be heading home" he whispered
"If that`s what you want"
"I could stay"
"I only have one bed and...it`s a bit early....."
He didn`t let her finish. "You know, just because we sleep in the same bed. Doesn`t mean we have to have sex."
She blushed and looked down. Darren smiled at her innocence.
Then her blue eyes looked straight at him.
"Stay with me" she said
Elisa cuddled up against Darren. Her hand over his heart, his hand on hers. The other arm under her head stroking her hair. They talked for hours. Elisa fell asleep as the first light of the day came through the window. Darren listened to her breath before he kissed her hair, closed his eyes and went to sleep with a smile on his face.
Elisa woke up very confused at first. Her bed wasn`t as big as she remembered it to be. And then she realized she wasn`t alone in it. She smiled as she looked at Darren. She carefully let go of his hand. Placed a kiss on her finger and touched Darrens lips. She got out of bed and headed for the shower.
Feeling very refreshed, she went into the kitchen and made some coffee. After drinking a cup, she went outside to do some gardening.
When Darren woke up it was almost noon. Darren put on his pants and went to look for Elisa. He must have made a sound when he went outside, cause Elisa turned around. "Hi handsome. Did you have a good sleep?" She smiled up at him. He felt as if his heart were about to jump out of his chest. She was so adorable. A little sweat, her hair tied back. A few curls surrounded her face. She had a little streak of soil on her left chin.
"Do you want something to eat?" Elisa asked
"I want you" He said with a not so steady voice
Darren took her hand and helped her up. He looked deep in her eyes and said; "I`m helplessly falling in love with you." Elisa looked him and she thought to herself that she had never felt this wonderful before in her life. Darren always looked at her in a way that made her feel special.
He was leaning in to kiss her.
"I thought I would find you here!" Daniel had walked up behind Darren. "Hi Elisa. Have you forgot that we are supposed to work on our album today?"
"Sorry to say mate. I had completely forgot about that. Are we in a hurry, or do we have time to eat breakfast? Darren asked. "Oh, Nicole made me breakfast before I left. By the way she wanted me to tell you Elisa that she`ll come by later, You two had some work to do, she said."Daniel grinned
"Nicole? Before you left? Daniel what have you been up to?" Darren was curious. "Oh, I`d say just about the same that you`ve been up to."
Elisa made some breakfast so she and Darren could eat. Daniel drove off with Darren right after he had swallowed his last bite.
Elisa came by an hour later. They discussed possible songs to play, and they actually got a lot of work done that day. As they sat in front of the tv that night Nicole asked if something had happened with her and Darren. Elisa said that they had just talked through the night and that she had fallen asleep in his arms.
"What have happened with you and Daniel?" Elisa asked Nicole
"We have a great time together you know, and we have really connected with eachother. But we have decided that thats all it is for now. Daniel and Darren are recording their second album very soon. And we are about to do our first so we kinda left it like that. I mean I think that it would be a little stupid to get involved with someone you can`t actually be with very often. You know we are going to be a bit buissy." Nicole said
"Are you saying that I shouldn`t get involved with Darren?" Elisa asked with a worried look on her face.
"No I`m not saying that. That`s intirely up to you, but I`m saying that you should think about it. OK, maybe our music won`t be a hit. But what if it is. You are not actually having a dreamrelationship, when music takes up all your time. And that could end with a lot of pain, you know."
They rapped up and Nicole headed home. Elisa went to bed, but she couldn`t fall to sleep. The reasonable Elisa knew that Nicole were right. But she couldn`t just let Darren out of her life like that. But maybe she should. Could this relationship have a chance?
Elisa didn`t see Darren at all the next couple of days. She and Nicole were preoccupied with their upcoming studiorecording. But that didn`t stop her from thinking about him. The day before the recording, he phoned her.
"Hi, sweety! How are you doing?"
"Hi Darren, how are you? I`m fine. I`m kinda nervous about tomorrow though."
"Don`t worry. You`ll be fine, I promise. Once you get started it`s just a walk in the park." Elisa laughed. "Somehow I don`t believe you! So have you gotten some work done?"
"Yeah, we have our next single almost rapped up, and since I finished writing it this week, I recon that`s pretty god."
"I`ll say! What`s the song about?"
"Ahh....I`m not sure I am going to tell you at this moment. Why don`t we all get together sometime next week, and you and Nic can have a listen to it? That`s if Daniel says we are finished and have time to do other things." Elisa could hear that Darren was smiling
"That sounds fine Darren" she said
"Anyway, I just wanted to call you and wish you good luck! And say hi to Nic for me will you?"
"Ok" Elisa said "It was good to hear your voice again!"
"I miss you Elisa...ahm..call me tomorrow after you are finished. Goodnight." And with that he hung up
Elisa stood there looking at the phone for a while with a little smile on her face. "Who was that?" Nicole asked walking into the room. "Ahh..It was Darren. He just wanted to wish us luck!"
Oh, that was nice of him." Nicole said "Why don`t we just call it a night, and go to bed. You look like you have been hit by a truck or something. We need to be our best tomorrow."
"I think you are right." Elisa said "Jack will pick us up at 7 am".
They went to bed. Nicole fell asleep the moment she laid her head on the pillow, Elisa wasn`t that lucky. She was worrying about tomorrow, Darren, her love life...she always worried about everything when she was nervous.
When the alarm went off, she was more tired then when she went to bed. Nicole was energetic as always.
They went to the studio. They talked to Mr.Logan for a while. Elisa just wanted to get started and get this over with, but strangely Logan surprised her, and actually succeeded in calming her down. It was noon when they got to work. Logan had his own ideas on the instrumental stuff, so he and Nicole spend about 4 hours on that before they both were satisfied. Then another two hours preparing. After that they were all so hungry, that they ate a pizza that Mr.Logan ordered.
At 7, Elisa could get to work. By 10 pm they had something they could continue on tomorrow. It was actually harder then Elisa had thought it was. It was weird to hear you own voice, and she was struggling to get use to it.
Logan said he would listen to the song as he had it now. With the instrumental work they had done combined with Elisa`s lyrics. And tomorrow they would have a listen to it and, probably, change a lot. But he was very satisfied by what they had done that day.
Elisa came home and headed to the shower. When she got out, she went straight to bed, sleeping before she laid down. She woke up with the funny feeling that someone was watching her. She opened her eyes and looked straight at Darren.
"What are you doing here?" She said sleepy
"I got worried when you didn`t call me, so I called Nic and she said that you had gone home. So I called here, but I didn`t get an answer, so I decided I should go and check if everything was alright. Your door was unlocked so I went inside. And I just sat here and watched you sleep.
You looked so innocent and sweet, that I couldn`t tear myself away."
Elisa looked at him and felt like she was going to cry.
"Well you are welcome to stay" She said pulling him down to her.
