He threw his clothes on and hurried out to her backyard, picked a red rose, then he ran back in the kitchen and found something he could write on.
Elisa woke at the sound of her alarm an hour later. She rolled over, but Darren was gone. Her hand hit a rose, laying on the pillow. She opened her eyes and saw the note. It said: "I`m sorry I didn`t have the time to make you some breakfast, but I had to pick up Daniel for our studiosession. I promise I`ll make it up to you. Good luck today. CALL ME!!
Love, Darren"
Elisa held the rose in one hand walking towards her window. The sky was more blue then she had remembered it to be. She smelled the rose and smiled.
Darren got to Daniel`s house just 5 min late. Daniel jumped in the car. "What`s up with you today? You look like you just caught the biggest fish in the sea." Daniel looked curiously at Darren. "Maybe I have mate!....maybe I have.."
"Oh no! Please don`t tell me! You went to see Elisa yesterday didn`t you? I can`t believe you did.." Daniel sounded upset. "Daniel, what...what seems to be the problem?
I really like her. Why can`t you see that? I just want to be with her. Is there something about her you don`t like? WHAT?" Darren was frustrated. Whenever he had talked about Elisa this week, Daniel had jumped to another subject. And he was getting a little tired of this.
"Darren, I didn`t mean it like that. I like her...I really do, but..." Daniel paused
"But what?" Darren had no patience left. "I have the best day of my life, and I can`t wait to get on with it. So if you could just tell me what`s on your mind. Then you will be doing me a big favor here!"
"I just think that one of you is going to get hurt here. That`s all. But do whatever you want."
"Oh, thank you Dan. And you are wrong you know! She is to sweet to ever hurt anyone. And I won`t hurt her. I love..."
He stopped. Scared of what he was about to say. The rest of the way it was a compact silence in the car.
Daniel looked at him. "I gotta call Nic. Maybe she can talk some sense into Elisa. Before it`s too late." But something told him that it was already far too late.
Daniel saw this "Oh so, this song was about her."He thought.
He looked over at Nicole and saw that she had noticed too.His lips formed the words"Too late". Nicole nodded, but they soon stopped their comunication when they were getting angry looks from Leonie.
"You guys! That song were amazing!" Leonie said while Nic and Elisa nodded in agreement. Elisa excused herself and went to the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and tried to fight back the tears. "He wrote me a song? He is just too sweet! He wrote me a song" repeating those words in her head, like a mantra. A little tap on the door. "Enter" she said. It was Darren who came to check if she were ok. "What`s wrong?" he asked as he saw traces of tears. "Have I done something wrong?" "Oh no Darren, you haven`t done anything wrong..."
"Have Dan said something? Cause if he has...."
"Silly, I`m just so happy! You actually wrote a song for me?" Darren blushed and looked at the floor. "Yah, well....just kiss me and save me from my blushing here!" Elisa laughed, but did as he asked. "You are going to spend the night." Darren said as they walked back to the others. She looked at him smiling. "Do I have a choice?"
"Nope" He answered and laughed "There is no escape from me. We egomaniacs tend to get our way....always".
While they were in the bathroom, Leonie had given Nic and Dan a lecture. They were told to be supportive and keep all negative thoughts to themselves. It seemed like Darren wasn`t the only one that got his way, Cause when Darren and Elisa said that Elisa was to spend the night there, Daniel offered to drive Nic home, and Nicole didn`t protest at all.
"Call me if Jack calls about our cd layout!" Elisa said while walking Dan and Nic to the car.
"Sure Lis, but I think we have the day off tomorrow. I`ll call you anyway, ok? Have a great time!"
"Ok" Elisa said and gave Nic a hug "Goodnight Dan. I`ll see you soon!"
She walked back to the house and saw Darren stand in the doorway. She stopped for a while and looked at his silhouette. God was he good looking!
"Miss Jennings! If you don`t come to bed right away, you are missing out on some big opportunities. So tear yourself away from the work of art, that is me, and come before I fall asleep." Darren turned around and walked inside
Elisa shook her head "Work of art...huh..!" And hurried after him.
"Good morning sleepy head!" Elisa sighed. "Is it morning? It certainly doesn`t feel like it!"
It`s 10 am! So get up. When you are finished come down and have some breakfast with me." He tossed a towel at her.
"You made me breakfast?"
"See, I told you I would make it up to you! And I always keep my promises." He left the room, and Elisa headed for the shower.In 15 minutes she came walking down the stairs.
"Wow, you are quick" Darren said
"I bet you spend hours in front of the mirror!" Elisa said smiling. "Well, not all are as naturally adorable as you are!" Darren lent down and kissed her.
"Where`s Leonie?" Elisa asked, cause she hadn`t seen her yet. "Oh, she went shopping with a friend. She said that now I have you to entertain me so she had some time off to herself." "Ahh..yes she mentioned something about you being scared of being alone..."
"She said what?" ".....and that you are a bit feminin." Elisa laughed at Darren while he buffed himself up, and put his chest more out.
Nicole called about two hours later. And they had a photoshoot the next morning. Daniel called Darren, and Darren went over to his place. Before he left he ordered Elisa to stay at his house.He said he wouldn`t be long so she agreed to stay, and curled up in his chair and started to read a book. Leonie came home soon after, so they made some dinner and watched tv. The evening went on, and when Elisa looked at her watch is was almost 11pm. "I better get home, I gotta get up early tomorrow." Leonie looked up at her. "Where is your dog?" "At my moms place." Elisa answered. "We decided that was the best thing since I probably got much to do these days." "Hmm...and...why can`t you spend the night here?" "Ahh...first;I don`t have any clothes with me. Second, he didn`t ask me to stay the night." Elisa answered
"First of all; Your clothes can be put in the washing machine tonight and put in the dryer tomorrow morning. Second; Darren told you to stay until he came back. And he hasn`t come back yet." Leonie said. Elisa hesitated."If you`re sure he wouldn`t mind...." "Elisa, I`ve known Darren a long time. And the only thing he would mind these days is spending time without you." Leonie convinced her, and she decided to spend the night.
When Darren got home it was passed midnight. He was happy to see that Elisa`s car was still there. The house were dark, and he went straight to his bedroom. Elisa was in a deep sleep and didn`t wake up when he entered. Darren smiled as he laid down beside her and put his arms around her.Thinking that this was what he wanted to come home to the rest of his life. Elisa sleeping in his bed.Nic, Jack and Logan stared in amazement, as Elisa rapped up the song later that day. Logan had expected to use another day at this one, but now he realised that they actually could finish today. Nicole had some finishing touch to do on some instrumentals, but it seemed like Elisa was done.
"OK Elisa, that`s it! You are finished. And I am sorry to say that you are stuck in showbuisness." Logan smiled at her and gave her a hug. "Was it ok?" Elisa looked at Nicole.
"Ok? Girl, you were far beyond ok!" Nicole laughed and jumped out of the chair. "Now I have to go and proove that you aren`t the only amazing one in this group!"
Nicole changed a bit on the music, Elisa just stood beside her, not saying a word. She trusted Nic and Logan on this bit. After a while she decided to call Darren.
"Darren here!" He sounded stressed
"Hi. It`s Elisa. I`m sorry to bother you....I can call back later if that`s better?!"
"NO, no, I can talk now. It`s just Daniel.....never mind. He`s just a little annoying today, that`s all. How is it going with you?"
"Oh, we actually finished. Or I finished...Nicole have some more work to do, but..it won`t take her long!"
"Really? That`s great. I guess it all went pretty well then.
So can we celebrate tonight? I could call Leonie and see if she can make us all dinner! What do you say?"
"If Leonie doesn`t mind..."
"Oh she loves to cook med dinner!" Darren laughed
"You are such an egomaniac! You can tell Leonie that I`ll come by and help her. Say, around 6pm?"
"Oh, I love this. The two women in my life, cooking me dinner! Ahh......"
"Goodbye Darren" Elisa hung up and smiled
Darren turned to Daniel. "We are eating dinner with Nic, Elisa and Leo tonight. And don`t try to object!!" Darren raised his voice. Daniel raised his hands. "wouldn`t even think of it, mate!" Darren still looked a little worried.
"You will be nice?"
"Darren...I told you I like her. I just don`t like the fact that one of you is getting hurt. But I won`t say a thing.I promise." Darren calmed down a little
"Relax, Daniel. I`m a big boy. I can take care of myself!"
Darren walked down the corridor and turned inside the studio. Daniel watched him. "Can you?" he mumbled to himself.
Elisa and Nicole stopped infront of Darren`s house at exactly 6 o`clock. Despite of what Nic had said the other night, she seemed to be exited by the chance of seeing Dan again. "Hi Leonie!" They said in unison when they walked inside. Leonie seemed very happy to have them there. "I rarely get the chance to spend time with other women" she said laughing. "Just Dan and Darren." she stopped and thought." Come to think of it, Darren is a little feminin!"
Elisa laughed."I`ll tell him that!"
"So...how are things going with you two?" Leonie asked. Elisa blushed, but decided to tell her everything. When she finished Leonie looked at Nicole. "You`re not ok with this, are you?" Nic looked surprised at Leonie. "How did you..."
"I had a talk with Daniel on the phone earlier. And I got the impression that you two agreed on this." Leonie interupted. Elisa felt a bomb drop on her."Wait a minute. Daniel is against me and Darren?"
"Not against....we are trying to protect you from being hurt." Nicole said in an apologizing voice.Elisa didn`t answer. " I think that you should leave them alone!" Leo said. "I don`t know how Elisa is these days. But Darren is as happy as I have ever seen him!" Nic gave this a thought.
Elisa started to set the table. Leonie came up to her. "Don`t worry, Lis. They`ll come around". She smiled at Elisa. "I hope so!" Elisa answered.
"Honey I`m home" Darren almost fell through the door. He ran up to Leonie and gave her a big kiss on the cheek."Missed me darlin?" Leonie laughed and slapped his chest. "Stop it Darren. This is our secret, and you are giving it away! Presides, I think there is another one you want to do this to." Darren turned around and looked at Elisa. As always when he saw her his heart jumped up his throat. "Hi" Elisa said. Suddenly a bit shy as she felt Daniel watching them. But Darren had decided not to care about this and lifted her up while he kissed her deeply. "I missed you!" he said breaking the kiss.
They had a good time during dinner. Daniel was in a good mood, and entertained everyone with stories about being a "celebrity". When they had cleaned up, they sat down in Darren`s "music room". The guys claimed to have a surprise for them. It turned out that they had a demo they wanted them to listen to. Darren was sitting across from Elisa. And they started the demo.
Darren`s incredible voice filled the room;"Maybe it`s intuition, But some things you just don`t question
Like in you eyes, I see my future in an instant

I think I`ve found my best friend...."
"Wasn`t that the exact words he had said in her kitchen that day?" She looked up at Darren
Darren saw the question in her eyes and nodded slowly while he gave her a soft smile.
