The characters are ones I'll remember for a long time to come, which is something I can only say about a handful of characters I've read in the past forty years. The romantic love scenes were quite intense without being the least bit bawdy or embarrassing. The author has a gift for conveying deep devotion and love. The continuing saga of the Prophitt brothers does not disappoint. Acquaintences from "The Price of Eden" come alive in their own stories in this book, giving an intense and warm romance, a sometimes hilarious view of life in 1850's South Florida, and the heart-wrenching reality of life for the Seminole Indians. A definite read!
