A little bit about me.....

Hi, and welcome to Nancy's Home Daycare site.I would like to thank you for taking the time to stop by for a visit.  I would like to welcome you to my site, and tell you that you will be glad you stopped by.  I will be availble for care starting August 1st, 2003, but I will be taking interivews after July 1st. I am a stay at home mom to one child who has just turned one. I believe that children learn what they live.

I have one space for infants currently available.  I am willing to care for children from the ages of 6 months up to and including 9 years of age. I offer reasonable rates, and will care for your child as if they were my own. I currently have 1 child of my own, who just turned one in April.   He is the reason I'm staying home.  I want to be able to alleviate the stress that other moms are going through looking for quality care.  I was in your position.  I went back to work when my son was 10 weeks old.  We tried to find care, and was told that most people will not take infants, and if they did, it wasn't until they were older.  It was horrible.  My husband then ended up staying home while I tried going back to work.  I realized that I was meant to be at home with my son. I stopped working in October of 2002.   I have been in Heaven ever since!  I will be in the Rossland Road and Thorton area of Whitby/Oshawa.

Thank you again for visiting, and I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Nancy,

Children Learn what they Live.

They will be taught that every action has a reaction. Children need to learn that it is the action that is wrong/bad not them. Time outs are not used as a first course of action, where re-direction is.  Many times, children are acting "out" instead of acting "up".  This could be for many reasons, but in my experience, I have found that re-directing a child to another activity usually stops the behaviour.

Children learn through playing with others.  Children in my care, are encouraged to sort out their differences (age providing) and problem solve. They are not made to participate in any activity, although I do try to encourage them to try.  I provide programming based on the ages and the abilites of the children enrolled.  I provide the basic keys to a successful start leading up to entrance to Kindergarten.

We have playdates, and a wonderful fenced backyard, with a playground and sandbox just past our gate!  Children are never left unsupervised while outside.

Communication between parents and the caregiver are key.
My commitment to you as a parent is to provide the care for your child that I would want for my own.  This includes nurturing, learning, and just plain old fun! While we have "structure" we are not completely structured.  I believe that children work at different speeds, and develop at different levels.  If the children are having fun outside, we'll stay outside and re-arrange the schedule ..

My door is open to you anytime during regular business hours.
We can talk about your child's progess.  Call me anytime,
