The MOMS Club (MOMS Offering Moms Support) Is a non-profit support group, specifically aimed at meeting the needs of mothers who choose to stay at home with their children, including those who work out of their homes, as well as those who work part-time. We are a part of an international organization, which was begun by Mary James in Simi Valley, California in 1983. There are now over 1,500 chapters with more than 75,000 members across the United States and in 6 other countries. MOMS Club of Dawsonville was established in early 2002. Our club is still new but growing right along with Dawsonville. We hold our regular monthly business meeting on the last Monday of each month at 10:30 AM. Our business meetings include discussion about group activities with a planned activity for the children. We have an activity or outing all other Monday's of each month. Children are welcome to attend in all MOMS Club functions (though for MOMS Night Out moms usually opt not to bring them).
- - That women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment - -That there is no one right way to raise children, but our members have a common concern in raising their children in a healthful way
- - That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifice - - That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job
