Dawn is a Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) experienced in working with a wide range of mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health concerns.  She works primarily with adults, offering in-depth individual psychotherapy.

Dawn's University training includes a  BSc in Psychology (1996)  and an MA in Counselling Psychology (2005), and she is presently pursuing her PhD.  Dawn started working in the field of mental health and counselling in 1995, and opened her Private Practice in 2004.

With a client-centered approach that is foundational to how she practices therapy, Dawn seeks to understand first and foremost
your unique experience. Her style is non-directive  and process-oriented, with strong influences in existential philosophy, humanistic theory, and transpersonal psychology. She believes  there is meaning in every experience, and that pain and suffering can be transformed and transcended.  Our relationships, our worldview, our past, our struggles and joys, our dreams and symbolic representations of the unconscious are invaluable "assisstants" in our life - now and beyond.  Inner wisdom is present in everyone, waiting  to be found, listened to and expressed.

The counselling
relationship is a fundamental aspect of growth and healing.  This relationship is mutually respectful, honoring and sacred.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other
people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence
automatically liberates others.
