After catching myself one day being very angrey after more of our soilders were killed, and saying "my god just bring our boys home...they want us out of there lets just leave". I started thinking about how stupid I was for saying those words out loud. Sure bringing our troops home would be great, lives saved, famillies happy again....but then what? Pulling our forces out of there would be like saying ok guys we give up. We are pansy asses and we'll just roll over and go home. Then sometime in years to come those same people will bomb inside OUR country...and how would you feel bout that then? So I went on a search for the reasons why our men and women are there. and here is what I found.
WHY WE ARE THERE
Canada is in Afghanistan today at the request of the Afghan government. We are there to:

Defend Our Nations Interestes
We have national interests in a secure and self-sufficient democratic state that never again serves as a terrorist haven.

Ensure Canadian Leadership in World Affairs
Nation-building takes time and requires sustained support. Abandoning Afghanistan prematurely would have consequences for Canadaian interests, international security and Afghans themselves.

Help Afghanistan Rebuild
Much progrss has been made to date; but the work on the ground must continue. With the full support of the Afghan government, Canada is helping the Afghan people bring stability to their country, strengthen goverance and reduce poverty.
