Ok, I'm sorry it's taken my so long to update my journal. I've had a 101 different things going on all at once. First of all let me tell you this.........I HATE WAITING!!!!!!!! I wish I was having the surgery tomorrow. Everyday I feel more and more like a HUGE freakin' cow!!!!!!!! Anyway, my grandmother is still in the hospital. She's doing a lot better, but they're still not sure when she'll be able to come home. Her electrolytes are all messed up. They thinking the reason all this stuff happened was because of the blood pressure medicine she's been on for about 50 years!!!!!!! Crazy I know. My friend Kelley had her surgery July 31, 2000!!!!! I'm going to call her tomorrow cuz hopefully she'll be more up and about. Her boyfriend says they're pushing her really hard to keep moving. It's weird how it works like that. Hell, I had half my kidney ripped out and the next day they're like, "Chop, chop. Get up and walk!!!!!!" I've never wanted to backhand someone so much in my entire life :o) Kelley's one of the lucky ones who only had to wait like a month. I hate her :o) Anyway, only 48 more days to go. I just hope I make it that long. |

I can't believe that the worst part of the waiting is half over!!!!!! September 22, 2000 is the day me "new life" is scheduled to begin. I know it's not all that far away, but it really seems like ages. It will give me time to try to let everything sink in and get my ass focused on what I need to start focusing on. On a sadder note, my grandma (who is the world to me) has been in the hospital for 3 weeks now. She had blood clots in her lungs and almost died. That's another reason why I'm not completely freaking out about the whole thing. I mean, I technically found out Tuesday morning, July 18th, and it's taken me this long to get on and tell you all. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally psyched about having a date set, I've just been running around like a chicken with my head cut off and I really haven't had the time to let it all sink in. I'm off for the next 3 days, so hopefully it will smack me in the head then :o) |

Sue FINALLY called me back today. I've called and left messages for her life 5 times. She said she called Cigna and my information is still in review. I talked to a girl I work with who has the same insurance as I do. She's having cosmetic surgery on her breasts and she was approved on the first letter. The surgery she is having is purely cosmetic too, not something that will save her life. She said it takes a while for them to respond. She said it took them about 8 weeks to get back to her. All my stuff went out June 7th, which puts 8 weeks the first week in August. Shit, I was hoping to have my surgery in August!!!!!!!! I HATE WAITING!!!!!!!!!! |

Well I haven't heard anything more. I think I'm going to try and call Sue tomorrow to see if she's heard anything. I'm also going to attempt to call Cigna again. I think I'll start early considering the fact that it could take hours, maybe even days to get through. But remember, I'm not bitter :o) Plus I'm still waiting on the stupid car thing, but that's another saga. I'll keep ya posted!!!!!! |

I'M APPROVED!!!!!!!! Well my secondary insurance (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) has been approved. I'm just waiting on my primary (Cigna PPO) now. I tried giving Cigna a call on Wednesday, but I was transferred around for about an hour when I just hung up. I called Sue to she if she has heard anything and she said that I know more than them because they haven't even gotten the approval letter from BC/BS. She said she would try calling Cigna on Monday and get back to me if she hears anything. My whole purpose for originally calling Sue was to see if I could schedule my surgery. Unfortunately since approval hasn't come through for my primary, I won't be able to schedule until it does. I'm trying not to live in the future right yet, but it's really hard. I'm just trying to keep really busy. So far that's been doing the trick. Plus I've transferred to another department at work, which also keeps my time fully packed. Hopefully Monday I'll have more good news to share!!!!!!!! |
