Name: Mallory and Vallory
Gender/Age: female, age 17
Rank/Craft: weyrbred, Hold guards, plus Mallory: Minecraft, Vallory: Smithcraft, each Apprentices
Location: Dawnlight Hold/Blackstone Weyr
Relatives/Family: all dead, presumably killed by enemies of her family, or threadfall; They are sisters, twins born very nearly the same moment
Dragon if any: pending in both cases, Candidates at Seasparkul Weyr
Physical Description: both are tall at 5'9", and either of them weighs around 140, both are wide shouldered and narrow waisted, with slender hips and large chest. Both have pale, flat white skin that does not tan nor does it burn. They both have two-toned dyed hair with black at the back, Mallory's is violet like her eyes and choice of dress, and Vallory's are shades of crimson and red in eyes and hair. They both keep their hair tamed by tying it back, but it is quite long, and shaggy. They both have long, dangerous looking fingernails which they keep painted in their favored colors. They are sharply beautiful, but dangerous at the same time, and don't look in any way kind or soft. Vallory is "cuter" than Mallory, who is more sinisterly beautiful. Their voices are different, Mal's is huskier and deeper, while Val's is airy and slightly hoarse sounding if she gets too loud. They wear clothing that is loose in the right places and snug in others, and always in colors befitting their black and dyed hair.
Emotional/Mental Description: Mallory is unstable and somewhat hair triggered, suffering mental abuse at the hands of their family's tormentor but denying that he is at all responsible. Vallory is more quiet but still likes to overindulge in sport and drink. Mallory wants nothing more than to keep her sister safe, but in the process she is also vehimently against their being separated at all. Vallory could keep to herself, but goes along with this because she dearly loves her sister and hopes that some day she will lose her age old fears. They come only as a pair, and should one Impress and not the other, things will get hairy.
Skills: Mallory is adept with ores and raw materials, liking to drill and use heavy equipment to make big noises. Vallory is more subtle in her approach, she enjoys tooling things and fiddling with small devices. Either of them would be ideal to make Aivas toys, should that become available. They are both excellent at reading maps, finding new ways to do old things, and are both considerably better at practical jokes than most people. However, Mallory's jokes tend to go a little farther than they ought, and people have been hurt by them. Vallory tries to make up for this by doing a bit of spin control now and again. Both of them are fanatically loyal to Deon and Spencer, and both have a strong background in hand to hand fighting.
History: Mal and Val were born to a couple of local riders, however Deon, Spencer and his family decided it would be for the best to have these girls under their control. Early on, both of them went through rigorous training in guard duties and combat, being quite good at it naturally. Then, they were separated from their family, by force, and began to be a bit brainwashed by Spencer's brother Reid. It was he who introduced the girls to their Crafts, however, in addition to working them over into obedient, loyal followers. It was incidental that they were searched together, they would both have been brought to a hatching regardless, due to the influence of the once-strong Lord Holder.
Notes and Special Information: Mallory is a bit insane. Vallory worries about this, but hopes that perhaps having a dragon bonded to her will help her out. Either that, or perhaps they will have a crazy dragon too. (Smacks lips, "won't That be special.")
Pets/Hobbies/Posessions: neither of them has any pets. They tend to go damaged when in contact with soft, small things. Their hobbies include blasting things, watching things fall, and listening to loud music that Harpers hate. They posess only one another, at times, and are rarely seen without their counterpart. They have a shared weyr, and won't settle for anything less.
"Such a sweet name," Vallory said, tapping her fingers on the wine bottle. "But we have been given an opportunity to stand on the sands, sister. We must take it!"

"Must we," Mallory said, flatly. "Well, you know that I hate waiting for Thread to fall. This way maybe, we can go out and meet it right in the sky."

"Fight it at the source!" Vallory cried, agreeing loudly.

"But
'Seasparkul'?" Mallory said.

"What about it?"

"Oh, what a nice day, the sun is shining and the --"

"Don't insult the weyr! Mal, shards. You're looking at a chance to impress a dragon!" Vallory spun and her hair danced into her eyes.

"I'm sorry, sis... I get carried away. I want to be on a dragon, I want to see the fire burning it... all away..." Mal sank into a seat, and waited for her anger at the world to go away.

It wasn't going to, not until they could fly.
Mallory paced. Vallory watched her with narrow, annoyed eyes.

"Will you stop that? You're driving me crazy."

"But the hatching will happen soon. I can feel it."

"You can't feel anything, Mal. You're imagining things.

But she was not! Soon after Mallory snarled at her sister for not believing her, the great thrumm of dragon voices filled the weyr. Mallory looked at her sister with the biggest, most arrogantly 'I am so right' grin on her face, and then they got their matching white candidates robes on.

"I hate this color," Vallory said, "it just doesn't match anything..."

Mallory said, "I have to agree, but if you keep beating your head against the wall you'll get a bloody nose and color it up a little..."

Vallory growled, "it was an accident, and it happened ONCE so could you just DROP it?"

Mallory grinned again, and they reached the sands. It was only half-full, but just as the last of the Candidates arrived, the eggs began to hatch!

"Have you seen that boy? The brown haired one, with the grey eyes?" Vallory asked, as the platinum headed boy impressed the first Brown of the hatching.

"I have. He watches us too much. And he doesn't come to talk."

Vallory ticked her tongue as a bronze and blue were Impressed. "Are you angry with him because he's rude to watch us, or because he won't dance with you at the sevendays feasts?"

Mallory was about to answer, but she stood silently as a blue dragon leapt over the sands. His wings were still wet, dragging in the sand, but he happily went over to Vallory and cast his mind into hers.

You and I are now one! He thought. I am Hiferth, are you happy?

"Of course I am Hiferth," Vallory said, so happy that she'd Impressed! Then, she realized that Mallory still stood there glaring. Not like the girls waiting for a gold to hatch glaring, but like really glaring. Like she'd be fuming and yelling the next minute.

"I am sure that you'll impress next," Vallory said, but she wasn't sure. She was hoping beyond hope, that her sister could understand this bond...

She is pained, but there is hope...
"I'm happy for you," Mallory choked out. Vallory stood beside her sister with her new dragon on the other side. The blue peeked around Vallory's hip, and hoped that the dragon who might come for Mallory would be quick about it. He was hungry, and he knew there must be food around here somewhere. But he was patient, like his bonded human.

"Look, that girl has just Impressed a bronze!" Vallory exclaimed. There were more than just her words echoing through the sands, everyone would be buzzing about this for years! Especially if...

Three other eggs, the last of the bunch, hatched at last. It had all gone by so quickly!

They were still caught up in the strange impression that Vallory didn't notice how hurt her sister looked. Her eyes were tightly closed, almost puffy the way they get after you cry a lot. But that meant that she didn't see the blue dragon who came out from the shells and wove his way around the other candidates milling about. The dragon gained speed when he caught sight of Mallory's black and violet hair.

Then, with strength if not style, he pounced upon Mallory! He bowled her over, and Vallory laughed until there were tears of relief in her eyes.

It is you! I am supposed to ride with you! I am Karth! Did I hurt you? Are you all right? I did not mean to hurt you!

"Nah, that didn't really hurt, Karth..." Mallory stated, while dusting herself off from the sands. Her face changed from the saddened state into a blissful Impression. Nothing else mattered in the world, to either sister.
