Impressed at
Turquoise Weyr
Z'lar and Blue Hatith
Z'low and Bronze Kranith
The brothers were at Turquoise weyr all of half a sevenday before the hatching started. It was quick, loud, and like nothing they ever thought they'd experience!

The eggs rocked very early in the morning, and most of the other candidates were still asleep. Not so, Lazlar and Lazlow. They often prided themselves on being early risers. Sometimes, they just stayed up all night long anyway.

But this time, they were sent down to the hatching sands, where the first clutch at Turquoise Weyr was hatching!

The first to arrive was a brown, a very good sign for a new weyr. He ran off and impressed right away, too. He was followed by a green and a blue, both of whom impressed quickly as well. Then, three eggs hatched at the same time, and both brothers held their breath.

Something was different about this group of eggs. The green impressed first, then the bronze ploughed right into quiet, smiling Lazlow. Z'low now, yelped as the dragon barged right onto him.

I've found you! I've found you! Oh! I'm sorry! I'm Kranith, did I hurt you?

"No, Kranith, you didn't hurt me, but you sure are big!" He didn't add,
and a bit excitable, like my brother...
Meanwhile, as his brother lifted off the sands and went to get his dragon fed, Lazlar glanced around and saw the blue who had broken shell with his bronze brother, and heard something. The dragon was picking his way very carefully over to Lazlar.

I don't know if I ought to go faster... Oh, not sure at all. Hatith is my name, and I think I need to be here, by you, but if I get too close I might hurt you!

"You don't have to be that careful Hatith," Lazlar said, suddenly realizing with his jaw slack that he'd impressed this beautiful blue dragon near him! They went off the sands as well, following their brothers.
"Just look at them..." Z'low said, eyes shielded from the sun as the pair of weyrling dragons took to the air.

"They're good at flying without us," Z'lar muttered.

"But will they be good with us?" Z'low completed the thought. "We'll have to wait and see. Ah, look at that... Hatith can fly circles around my Kranith."

"Figures," said his brother. "It's like they want me to be all mellow and you to get..."
Get what, my friend? Excitable? Eager? Loud?

They are both loud, my clutch brother...

They are, aren't they?
Kranith and Hatith are now adults!
