Abit AN7 is one of the most overclockable motherboards avauilable. I'm writing this in every section but only because it is true(beforew I buy something I'm always doing long internet research to make sure that I'm buying the best stuff out there). AN7 has special section under bios called cell menu. Cell menu is a place where you can adjust totally everything including chipset voltage, vcore from 1.75V-2.3V!!! which is a record. Off course to use 2.3V you need something big to cool this up because more Voltage=more heat. At the moment I'm using big SP97 from thermalright which is giving me great results but in near future I will come back to water cooling because I miss my old silent computer:)
Overall mobo is great and with my cpu and memory it is a kickass combo. here are some specs from Abit-usa website
The nForce2 Ultra 400-based AN7 is packed with features that deliver mind-bending performance. With a 400MHz FSB, Dual DDR400 support, NVIDIA SoundStorm, and exclusive ABIT ?Guru technology, the AN7 is the definitive AMD Athlon platform for the hardware enthusiast.
UGuru is a new microprocessor designed by the ABIT Engineers for use only on ABIT motherboards. ?Guru combines the ABIT Engineered features ABIT EQ, ABIT FanEQ, ABIT OC Guru, ABIT FlashMenu, ABIT AudioEQ and ABIT BlackBox into a user-friendly interface providing users the perfect environment with which to maximize performance and stability.
FSB 400
The 400MHz FSB increases bandwidth and improves overall system performance.
Dual DDR 400
Supports up to 3GB of Single/Dual channel DIMM modules, delivering bandwidth of 6.4GB/sec.
LAN on board
Lets you easily connect to the world wide web at high speeds without having to buy a separate 10/100 Ethernet card.
Serial ATA 150
Serial ATA is an evolutionary replacement for the Parallel ATA storage interface. This new high-speed interface boosts data transfer rates to up to 150 MB/sec. More flexible power tolerances allow for smaller and more efficient cables.
S/PDIF In/Out
Lets you enjoy 6-channel audio without having to buy advanced sound cards.
USB 2.0
Supports speeds up to 480 Mb/sec, approximately forty times faster than conventional USB 1.1.
IEEE 1394
Supports 400/200/100Mb/sec data transfer rate.
