Weekend Update 6

General Disclaimer:  For those of you not familiar with this subscription, this is what I like to call Daves weekend update and what others like to call shameless ego spam.  It is the time of the week when I let everyone know at once what is going on in my life so I do not have to repeat the same stories over and over again.  You may also notice that in writing my weekend updates, I choose to add some of that Dave flair I know you all love so much.  Enjoy reading or enjoy clicking the Delete button, I leave it up to you.  Either way, have a GROOVY week!

Weekend Update: Special Edition!
Yes, it is finally here.  Spring break has arrived for the lucky punks of Kansas State University.  It was long in coming and certainly much needed but now that its finally here I dont mind saying that I am rather disappointed.  I mean, come on I didnt get to go to Cancun, or Key West, or Vail or anything.
The past school week went by in a blur as I passed the time praying for my papers and exams to magically be over without me having to exert any effort.  Alas, The Divine did not see things my way and I ended up working for everything along with the rest of you mortals.  The nights were spent with either frisbee or girls in the air as I alternated between much-anticipated games of ultimate on the quad and ballroom dance class.
Allow me to explain:  Wednesday nights ballroom dance marked the start of the Swing portion of the class.  Once the basics were down the instructor sensed some boredom brewing amongst his students, so we began working on some lifts.  You all, Im sure, have seen the movie Dirty Dancing?  Well, for those of you that have, Swayze and Grey dont got NOTHIN on us!  I spent a half hour that night essentially doing a weight-workout throwing Sarah around!  Shes used to I guess: she is a cheerleader after all.
The disc games were excellent as usual.  Attendance is back up and we are all having a blast.  This week also marked the first week of my jogging class.  This is not a typo, Jesse and I are enrolled in Kinesthesiology 162 (spell check cant handle that one sorry), or:  Jogging class.  Its really quite entertaining, a good way to stay in shape and continue my training, not to mention a very easy one credit of A.  Friday I took my first quiz in KIN162 it was quite a way to start the break.  Afterwards I was so hot that I walked the whole way from Ahearn to the dorms with my shirt off in the 40 degree weather.  I got no less than 22 strange looks along the way.  I usually get cold very quickly, being a skinny little punk, but after running so much it was quite comfortable yet I cant help but wonder: is it normal for a human body to emit steam?
To begin my spring break, I hitched a ride back to the burbs with Kari, JD and Derek, which deposited me to my driveway in just enough time to grab a bowl of cereal before heading out to a soiree at Dr. Curts house with my parents and little sister.
Saturday I slept until 12:30 I havent slept that late in a long time and it felt rather strange.  I will not disclose the events of Saturday night at this time:  they are still far too tragic for me to even think about.  I will however say this:  We almost got kicked out of Target and I had to kiss another guy and I am SURE now, beyond ANY shadow of a doubt that I am 100% HETEROsexual.  Just so there is no doubt: that means I like GIRLS.  The whole story will be on my webpage soon including pics of us being stupid at Target (NOT pics of the other stuff eeewwwww).
Sunday I helped my dad with some work: we tore down my old fort/swingset in the back yard.  It was sad to see it go, but I have been too big for it for so many years now that it is good to get it out of the yard finally.  I made sure to take note of the construction so someday I might duplicate it in a backyard of my own someday!  Sunday night I went and saw We Were Soldiers with some of the KSU crew.  Walking out of the theater, I wasnt sure if I liked it or not.  After sleeping on it, however, I decided that it is one of the best movies I have ever seen.  It is very bloody, but not gratuitously, and it has a great message.  It is also a very intense movie.  Make sure you go to the bathroom beforehand, because you will not want to leave for a second.
Today, Monday, I spent most of the day shopping for stuff.  I bought some cleats to play frisbee in, some new running shoes, and some other stuff which is escaping my memory now at one in the morning.  The weirdest part of my day:  running into Jesse at Famous Footwear and then running into Alison at Target no more than an hour later!  How kooky is that?  What are the odds?  I think that they are stalking me.  The next time I see either of them I think I will flying-tackle them and pin them to the ground.
Anyway, this is a rather lengthy update it seems, so I will conclude with only this: Olathe is fun it is certainly very nice to see my friends and family here (and my dogs!!!) but in the end, I cant wait to get back to school!
Much love to yall and have a GROOVY spring break!  To Kim:  BEWARE!  The Wakeeney Invasion countdown has begun!
