2-24
gather 'round children, its time once again for your weekend update.  this one goes out to geo in nebraska... i know you've been waiting for this geo!
this week was as tough as ever... mon through wed really suck but as soon as i get done on wed it's like my weekend starts.  i dont know why that is but it is really brutal during the first half of the week.  certainly the main event of this week for me was hosting a guest from olathe.  miss cj teson arrived on friday, and brought plenty of trouble with her as usual.
friday night was our weekly movie night, and immediatly following that we went out to a party at emily's boyfriend's house.  it was not as crowded as it has been in the past, but watching chris dance drunk will quickly dismiss any apprehension with a fit of laughter.  chris, i am totally serious about bringing kari's video camera next time!
saturday was a nice, lazy, and much-needed day of rest.  saturday night was quite the event however:  a gob of us crazies went bowling at the union here, but one of the two lanes we were using kept breaking (it was all kari's fault, wouldn't you know).  after a dissapointing, but socially-entertaining time spent at the bowling alley, we all decided to peek in on the formal going on upstairs in the union ballroom.  let me tell you, i have not seen a bunch of girls get so excited in a LOOOONG time!  through a very rapid turn of events that boggles my mind even in objective retrospect, 7 of us ended up going back to the dorms, changing into some formal (dresses for the ladies and hawaiian shirts for the guys!) clothing, and returning to crash the formal.  it was a great time dancing and marvelling at our own spontinaity.
today, sunday, has been equally as lazy.  i took the teson family on a tour of manhattan this evening in exchange for a wonderful meal at the little apple brewery.  it is funny not eating off of a tray... oh well!
overall it has been another fantastic weekend here in the land of oz.  i hope that cj had a good time as well, i try to be an entertaining host but i just cant compete with the west girls!
to the goose: got your message, tried to call back several times but no answer... let me know in advance next time your in town or heck, just stop by!  sorry i missed you man, next time!
trivia question:  no one seems to like the word "spooge"... why is that?
thought question:  how is the prevalence of hip hop music in today's pop culture explained by the marxian sociological theory?  does this represent, as charles murray so eloquently phrases it, a "proletarianization" of the dominant minority.  this has been an ongoing discussion for me lately... those subs next door are really getting out of hand.  dwane (guy next door) is certainly not contributing to the bettermant of the dominant minority.
it is way past this little boy's bedtime.  have a groovy week and ill see y'all on the flip side!
