| 4-21 Ah, how I love lazy Sundays. I have had a very active and very wonderful week, and now that there is actually nothing going on for a while, I am taking advantage of the tranquility to write my weekend update. Monday morning came with a vengeance. I suffered through some classes and wished I could take a nap. Ever notice how when youre young the very last thing you want to do in the world is take a nap but now that were older we consider an extra 20 minutes to powernap a gift from the Gods? Ironic, dontcha think? The rest of the day was easy, including a trip to the natatorium to go swimming that night. Afterwards I got my finger squished in a door really bad. The nail turned all sorts of unnatural colors and I spent several minutes rolling on the floor in pain. I am still hoping that the nail doesnt fall off. Tuesday was not a fun day; my finger throbbed all day, giving me a horrible headache. I got my Sociology test back (the one from a couple of weeks ago, the one that left my brains oozing like orange marmalade) and it turns out that I pulled a mid-B on it. By that night I just couldnt take the pain any more and I downed a Vicoprofen that I had left over from when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I dont know much about this drug, but I do know that when I take it my attention span is reduced to about 5 seconds and that I no longer feel any pain. Not too fun, but very effective. Wednesday my finger felt much better but it was still a most unpleasant day. It was one of those days that makes you wish you had a remote control for life: rewind/erase play. Oh, I should mention that I skipped polisci as usual today youll understand why in a minute. Thursday was not notable, except that watching girls play Crazy Taxi makes me laugh and justifies everything Ive ever said about crazy women drivers. (haha, you KNOW who yall are!) Friday yeah. well Friday I got up before the butt-crack of dawn to do some last minute cramming for my polisci test that was at 11:30. I read about 50 pages that morning, and felt pretty good walking into that room until I noticed that attendance was way down for a test day. My first thought was that it had been postponed, but Derek and I both were soon shown the light when we realized that the test had been on Wednesday, and we both had missed it. After sitting very anxiously through a lecture that Im sure neither of us remembers now, we approached Prof Unekis with very submissive expressions and I explained our dilemma. Long story short: we get to take the test on Monday morning. I should be a diplomat or maybe a hostage negotiator hmmm or maybe a telemarketer. (kidding!!!!, really!!!!) Anyway, after dodging that bullet, I rushed back to my computer so I could enroll for next semester. The only class I didnt get into was one that JD and I were planning on taking together: Womens Studies. We thought its probably one we could really use! My schedule is not going to be nearly as hard as this semesters (thank God), and most exciting of all is that EVERY SINGLE ONE of my classes is on Tuesday / Thursday! This gives me a 4 day weekend EVERY WEEK! HOO-RAH! Saturday was Haylapalooza here on campus. This is a concert that my dorm puts on every year. This year the rain really put a damper on things, but we managed to have fun despite it all. I got to play roadie for JDs band, Orpheum. They put on a great show and really scared some people which is what they were going for I think. The only other band I caught was some of Ruskabanks set. It was as energetic and rockin as I remember them being. (JD would like it known that his opinion of Ruskabank is that they suck damn ska bands.) Ok, I know this is a long one, but I have three more cool pieces of news before I let chall get back to your important lives. You all are aware, Im sure, of the marathon my cousin Joe and I are scheduled to run in June? Well we had kind of picked this particular race arbitrarily because it was in Alaska and the dates just happened to work out. Anyway, we found out some more information about the run: it is held in Cordova, AK, a town with NO roads leading in or out of it. We will have to fly in or take a ferry. The run consists of the local fire department driving us 26.2 miles out of town and letting us run back but they will be following us with rifles to protect runners (all 10 of us!) from the bears and moose that are apparently very abundant in that area. Once we get done torturing ourselves, there is a huge salmon festival that night! How COOL is that? This is not your ordinary marathon... this is MY kind of run! The other piece of news is that I have updated my website a little this week. I have put some new stuff up under pics and snowday and I have also managed to get all of my old weekend updates posted. This means that all you late-subscribers can go back and see how it all started and you hard-core fans can go back and remember the good ole times any time you want! In case you have lost it, my website URL is: http://www.geocities.com/davyj44/davyj44. Item number three is that the newest Chipotle is opening in Aggieville TOMORROW! They had an opening promotional yesterday and gave away free burritos. I went of course, and it was everything I had ever hoped for and more. Until next week gang, keep truckin. CJ is a punk. -DavyJ, who does not like people thinking that he paints his nails |
