Euro Calculator

When you initially open the app, you'll notice right away that there is no longer 5 buttons on the bottom of the screen. There are only 4 because the American and Euro calculators have been combined into one view. The application is setup with the American version as the default calculator...

...but it can easily be changed to the European version. Exit out of iWatchr and open up your iPhone's regular "Settings" application. Scroll all the way down until you see a list of applications installed on your device from the AppStore. Find "iWatchr" and select it. This will bring you to a screen where all of iWatchr's settings are. Under the section "Calculator" is an option called "Type". This is the setting for switching between Euro and American versions of the calculator.

Switch "Type" to "European" and exit it out of Settings and reopen iWatchr. Notice now when you select the "Calculator" tab that the European version now shows and the American version is hidden.

Choose the "Formula" button in the upper right hand corner.

If you don't really care about how the formula works and just want to get it working like it used to then you can ignore the following information under the screenshot below. Just make sure that when you select the formula button in the Euro Calculator, your screen matches the second screenshot below...(the one after the blue arrow). Just select on the row you need to edit and it will bring you to a screen where you can change the values. Hit the "done" button when you have finished to save the formula. You're done!! You never have to do this again!!

If you do want to learn how configuring the formula works because you plan on tweaking the formula a bit then continue reading and you should have no problems!

The formula the Euro calculator is based on is (Calories / 66) + (Sat.Fat / 4.12) for using Calories or
(Kilojoules / 300) + (Sat.Fat / 4.12) for using kilojoules.

If you have the formula itself in front of you and you compare it to the screenshot then it's pretty self explanatory how it works. If you take basic Math rules, basically all equations can be broken up into sets of parenthesis to better show which mini equations are calculated first and whatnot, right?
Look at the formula I am using and look at the screenshot. The first line in the screenshot equates to the first set of parenthesis in the formula...(Calories / 66), the second line is "OR", which just shows you that you have the choice to either use Calories with Sat.Fat OR Kilojoules with Sat.Fat BUT not both, as is how iWatchr's Euro calculator always worked. The third line is the second set of parenthesis....(Kilojoules / 300) and the fourth line is the "+" in the formula. The last line is the last set of parenthesis....(Sat.Fat / 4.12). Follow?
You are setting up the formula to work either way...with Calories or with Kilojoules. That way if you ever want to use, say, Kilojoules even though you normally use Calories, it will be already configured to do that!

If you just used the formula used in the screenshot and didn't tweak it at all, then you can test it out if you'd like to see that it is working correctly like it always has....HERE

If you have any questions at all on how to do this, please don't hesitate to email me at [email protected]
