Get D' Recipe Here
D' Recipe is an application that allows you to save, create or edit recipes that you may have or any of the recipes in the built in database.......
Other applications in the AppStore do not allow you to edit the recipes to your liking, allow you to create new ones based on any existing ones or add your own recipes from scratch. D' Recipe does!!
Now you can have a place to put ALL your recipes in one!!...and who knows, maybe you'll find the included recipes to be just your style.
Are you tired of typing lengthy directions for your recipes or just want to add a quick note, then the audio recording feature of D' Recipe is meant for you.
It's unique design allows the recipes to be retrieved without an internet connection while keeping your application speed at a maximum. You retrieve the recipes when you want to and you can save ones you like to a "saved" section so you can view them in the future without having to retrieve them all. In the "saved" section are where your personal recipes that you create are saved and where you can edit all recipes to your liking.

Features:

Below is just some helpful hints on how to use this application... If you have a question that you can't find an answer to here, feel free to email me

Drink/Food Recipes:
D'Recipe comes with over 500 built in recipes. These recipes are divided into food and drink recipes....about 250 each. These recipes can be accessed via the "Foods" tab or the "Drinks" tab depending on which ones you want to look at. Each of these sections has a search bar that allows you to search the built in recipes (by title or ingredient) for quicker access when looking for a particular type. Once you have used the search function (or the "download all" button to see them all) and the results are displayed, you can select a particular recipe to be brought a screen where all the ingredients are listed for that recipe and the directions. Once you have looked the recipe over, if you like it, you can hit the "save" button in the upper right corner to save this particular recipe to your "Saved" section. In the "saved" section is where you can see this recipe in a different way that allows you to edit it to your liking if you choose (see "Saved Recipes/Adding Own" below). Having it in the saved section also gives you quicker access to this recipe in the future because now you won't have to search for it again if you needed to.
Saved Recipes/Adding own:
D'Recipe has a pretty extensive section for adding your own recipes. It is the same area where the recipes are displayed that were saved from either the "Foods" database or "Drinks" database.
Hit the "Saved" tab at the bottom of the screen to get to this area. From this view, you can delete individual recipes by hitting the "edit" button. By default, all saved recipes are displayed in an indexed (alphabetical) format for easier access between them but you can also use the search bar to search all of the saved recipes by "Title" or "Ingredient", just like in the Foods or Drinks databases but in addition saved recipes can also be searched by "Tag" as well. When using the search bar and your results are displayed, hit the "All" button in the top left of the screen to have all the saved recipes displayed again in that original indexed format.
Hit the "New" button in the top right to start a new recipe. Just give your recipe a title (don't worry, you can change the name later whenever you want) and then hit either "Save" in the top right or "Done" on the keyboard. Your new recipe will now show with all the other saved ones. Other things displayed in this view are each recipe's star rating, a little thumbnail picture, if one is available, and whether or not the recipe is "Food", "Drink", or "My Recipe". Ratings and photos are not editable in this view. This is for display only.
Editing Saved Recipes:
If you would like to change one of the saved recipes in any way, select the recipe when in the "Saved" view and this will bring you to a screen where you can do most of the editing.
Hit the edit button in the top right corner and you'll see the whole view go into edit mode such as little delete buttons appearing next to the individual ingredients. Once in this mode, just touch the particular area you would like to edit. If you want to change a recipe's star rating, just touch the stars next to the photo. If you want to add a photo, touch the "Add Photo" square (same thing goes for changing from one photo to another). If you want to edit the "prep time", touch the prep time text.
If you scroll all the way down the screen, you will see where you can add tags for this particular recipe. These tags that you specify can be used for searching when you are at the main "Saved" screen and you would like to search through all the saved recipes. Tags can be used to specify main ingredient, type of recipe, nationality, method, etc... The important thing to remember about adding tags is to separate them with a "," (comma). Don't use " ," (space and then a comma) otherwise the tag will not get recognized. Only use the comma. For ex.... tag1,tag2,tag3....
As far as editing the recipe's name....only your personal recipes can have their recipe name edited. Ones from the database can have everything else edited except for the actual name.
Ingredients:
Adding, deleting and editing ingredients can all be done from this view as well. As you saw when you first went into edit mode, just hit the "delete" button next to the particular ingredient you want to delete.
If you want to add ingredients, while in edit mode, hit the "+" button in the upper left corner. This will bring you to the ingredient editor where you can name and create your ingredient. Give the ingredient a name by selecting "Ingredient" and using the keyboard. Once you want to specify a serving, select "Amount/Measuring Type" and a picker will appear where you can select type of serving and size.
If you don't see a type of serving available, choose the "Custom Measuring Type" row and it will allow you to create a serving type and add it to the picker. Put this "Custom Measuring" view that appears into edit mode and you will be able to delete serving types from the picker if there are ones you never use. You can also reorder the serving types so that way you're most used ones are always at the top of the picker and easily accessible. Once you have specified an ingredient name and serving type/size, hit the "save" button and this will add the ingredient to your recipe and at the same time bring you back to that recipe details view where you will see the ingredients, including the one you just created.
If you want to edit the ingredient, select an ingredient while the recipe details view is in edit mode and this will bring you back to the ingredient editor just as it did when adding a new one. Same things apply for editing ingredients in the editor as does adding new ones.
Recordings/Directions:
Directions for your recipe can either be typed or recorded...
If you would like to type them, again, put the recipe details view into edit mode and just select the text area where it says "Type text notes/directions..." or the actual directions if you want to edit previous ones. This will bring you to a text editor where you can manually type out your directions.
If you don't feel like typing, then just hit the "Record new note/directions" selection right above the text and this brings you to a voice recorder. The voice recorder is very simple. It just has 4 buttons....play, pause, stop, record. There is no limit to how many recordings you can make but due to Apple's limitation of available memory for outside applications, it is best to keep recordings at a minimum. When recording directions and your are in between steps, hit the pause button. Don't just record silence. If you do use pause, once you hit record again, the recording will pick up right where you left off. Playback of that recording will be seamless so it will be a better all around performance boost when using the pause button while recording.
