Davis Anti-Authoritarians
[email protected]The Davis Anti-Authoritarians were a local community activist group, from Davis, California. We're about 10 miles West of Sacramento, and 100 miles NorthEast of San Francisco.
We formed around April of 2006, to fight a battle against against the Target Corporation, which launched a huge campaign to set up one of its sweatshop-supporting, bix bog stores in Davis. Unfortunately, they prevailed by a small margin, but we were nonetheless able to raise community awareness concerning Target's reprehensible labor practices. We also worked with Food Not Bombs to bring free food to the public, and Critical Mass to create a city where bikes replace cars as the main mode of transportation.
