| BCIS 2: Dual Credit |
| Understanding Dual Credit A dual credit course is a college course taken by a high school student during their junior or senior year. The student earns both college hours and high school credit for being enrolled in the dual credit course at the high school. Please note that students do not have to leave the high school campus to attend this dual credit course because it is taught during the regular school day at LE/CJ. |
| Facts About Dual Credit at LE/CJ 1) The course is only opened to Juniors or Seniors that have successfully passed EITHER the English/Language Arts section OR the Math section of the TAKS test. 2) Both Criminal Justice and Law Legal students can enroll and take dual credit courses if they have room on their course selection. 3) Students are responsible for purchasing their own book for the course. 4) Students will be enrolled at LE/CJ and Houston Community College System at the same time while taking this course. 5) Students will attend the course is one semester. |
