I was born on September 12, 1959 in the little town of Sunset, Louisiana
to two of the best parents on earth, L.P. and Estelle Burleigh.
We lived in Sunset until I was about 3 years old when we moved temporarily
to Grand Coteau while our new home was being built. Grand Coteau is
just across the interstate from Sunset. We moved into our new home
on the interstate when I was 5, which is where I lived until I was
married. My Mom and Dad still live there today and me and my family
live next door to them. During high school, I met the most wonderful girl I had ever met. Her name was Yvette. We dated each other for 3 years and was married on August 4, 1979. We have been together for 25 years. During that time, we have had 3 beautiful children together. The oldest is Christopher David, born on December 31, 1981. The next one is Adam Michael, born on June 12, 1986. And finally on January 14, 1999, the Lord blessed us with our miracle daughter, Ashley Ruth. After I graduated from high school, I went to T. H. Harris Voc.-Tech. School in Opelousas, Louisiana. I completed a 2 year course in Industrial Electronics. After school, I went to work as an electronics technician. My work history is a long one and I will not bore you with all the places I worked at over the past. If you want to see my work history, you can read my resume. In 1986, God had a different plan for me concerning my job. After several electronics job in the oil field and going through several lay-offs during the oil crisis in the 80's, I ended up working at Jimmy Swaggart Ministries in the TV department. This in itself is a long story which I will not go into at this time. That job is what trained me for what I do today. Today I work for First Baptist Church of Lafayette. I edit the programming for television and edit the messages and special events for distribution on DVD. I have been in video production for about 19 years now. About fourteen years ago, the Lord introduced to us homeschooling. We (Yvette: she does 99.99999% of everything) started home schooling our two boys. Christopher is now finished school and is serving our country in the U.S. Army. Christopher is presently in Iraq. Adam is now in the workforce. Ashley is 8 an is excited about being homeshcooled. Homeschooling has been a blessing to the entire family. It isn't for everyone, but if you would like information on the subject, we would be happy to give you information on the subject. Just email me or or Yvette. Some of the things I like to do is be with my family, do things on the computer, paint (oil painting), fishing and photography. Well I don't want to bore you too much, so I will end this brief history for now. I have other things I want to add, but that will come later. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to sign my guest book and visit the web sites of the rest of my family. |
