I think it is appauling the pay teachers in our state receive. Teachers do not enter their profession to become financially wealthy, but many Tennessee educators are forced to leave the profession or leave the state because of the embarrassingly low wage we pay them. I believe teachers should be competent in the subject they teach. I believe teachers should continually learn new techniques, and assist parents in our childrens maturing process into adulthood. If we are to expect our teachers to go the extra mile {and many already do}then we should be willing to pay them the salary they deserve. Our educators play a big role in the life of our children. Teachers who are willing to go that extra mile should not have to worry about receiving a competative salary, and we should be willing to reward them for their extra efforts. As your next State Representative I will work on the side of justice, and paying our educators the wage they deserve is imparative to achieve the goal of making our education system one which all states will follow. | ||
