In the name of God Amen I, John Hudnall of Caswell County and State of North Carolina, being weak and low in constitution and in health, and knowing that all flesh must yield to death when it shall please God to call, doth desire to distribute all my property amongst my children, and my soul to God who first gave it to me in form as following:

Item. I give to Lewis Whitlemore and his wife, the tract of land where I now live and negro Sopy, Milly and Natt, with chest of drawers and book- case.

Item. I give to Sopy Pett a negro boy by the name of Tolliver.

Item. I give to Eliza Clark negro Abby, Spencer and Harret, during her life, and then the said negroes to be equally divided between Imma Clark and Betty Clark.

Item. I give to Scytha Humber, child negro, Marriah and Sibb.

Item. I give to John Jeffer's three daughters two hundred dollars a piece in cash to be paid out of the money in the house and the sale of Elmore's land and the land I bought of Hill. If Elijah Withers choose to give two hundred and fifty dollars for Elmore's land, he shall have it. If not it shall be sold for the best price that can be gotten for it, and the balance of the money for Scythe Withers.

Item. I give the balance of my negroes not willed now trained to be equally divided between Geo. Courts and Elijah Withers, except Sall, who is to be free and live with my family when she pleases, the stock and household furniture, and lastly I do appoint Elijah Withers and Geo. Courts, my executors of this my last will and testament to have it executed in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the twenty third day of July 1814.
