Patti, one spring Sunday after brunch in Dupont Circle. She finished her first semester of grad school at the University of Maryland, College Park, doubling a major in architecture and planning. Can you say "ouch"? Patti is from Lima, Peru, and my world-travelling friend Mert met her for dinner on his trip to Peru last year.

Patti and me at our favorite hangout, One World in Federal Hill. We meet as often as our schedules allow. Coffee must be involved. It is our bond. I've gotten her into drinking her coffee black. My next challenge is to get her to like wheat grass.

Andy, Kevin, and me at Intelligentsia in Chicago before I moved to Baltimore. Kevin lives in Lakeview and I crash at the Apartment of Kevin & Nick whenever I'm in town. I highly recommend it. I hope to see them next time I'm in Chicago and I hope to see Andy next time I can make it to Boston.
Angela sent me this pic from a visit to N'awlins this spring and was kind enough to add her own quotations of support! I'm sure "Good luck on your AIDSRide!" was exactly what she was thinking while partying at Mardi Gras. Actually Angela just emailed that her plans to move to Europe are on hold and she'll be in Chicago at least another year. I'm glad she'll be staying closer a while longer.
My friend Susan, who also goes by Trixie Vixen, and I had a great time in Georgetown. This restaurant, Sequoia, faces the Potomac River and overlooks the Watergate so we felt very sinister eating brunch there. She is one of many friends coming to meet me at Closing Ceremonies. Susan lives in the People's Republic of Takoma Park, Maryland, and *loves* all things Jacqueline Susann.
