David Gregory has trained under a number of acclaimed singing teachers over the years including the international Opera Star Malcolm Rivers, West End Vocal Consultant Mary Hammond, British Voice Association President Mark Meylan and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under Penelope Mackay and Theresa Goble. He has also studied part time at the London Branch of the Actors Centre, the Royal Academy of Music and the London Theatre Conservatory. David’s
performing credits include principal roles in Opera, Operetta, both West
End and Touring Musicals, and Pantomime. He has also appeared in solo
concert at the Royal Festival Hall and on BBC TV’s ‘Songs of
Praise’, Sky TV’s ‘Star Search’ and several regional BBC Radio
Stations. David’s other credits include numerous Classical Recitals,
Cabaret Shows, Charity Functions and Private Events. In
2002, David was a semi-finalist on the award-winning Channel 4 series
‘Operatunity’ (in collaboration with the English National Opera, EMI
Classics and Diverse Ltd), and his participation in the competition can be
seen on the subsequent DVD release of the series. Then, as a result of
being spotted by a major executive in the recording industry, David was
engaged by the Decca Record Company to record some sample tracks for
consideration by the legendary World-Class Tenor Luciano Pavarotti prior
to the recording of his farewell album ‘Ti Adoro’. In
2003, as a result of his combat sporting pursuits, David was selected to
appear on Carlton TV’s Mixed Martial Arts Series ‘Cage Wars’, where
he was filmed training at the Tokon Submission Fighting Academy in
Hertfordshire and singing at the Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden.
In
2004, David recorded a comedy Jingle to the tune of ‘O Sole Mio’ for
the Jonathan Coleman and Harriet Scott Breakfast Show on London’s Heart
106.2 FM Radio Station. He was then subsequently fast-tracked by the BBC
onto their popular quiz ‘The Weakest Link’ to deliver an Opera-Gram to
the show’s notorious 'Queen of Mean’ Anne
Robinson! Currently,
David can be seen performing at a large number of Marks & Spencer
Stores throughout London and the South East. His unique vocal facility
coupled with his widely diverse repertoire (Opera, Musicals and Pop -
including Big Band, Chart and 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s Standards), have
won him such acclaim from the public that a CD - ‘David Gregory: The
Collection’ has just been produced to meet with the demand! Also, whilst
performing at these venues, David has been raising funds for Macmillan
Cancer Relief, which, coupled with the public’s ever-increasing
awareness and resounding appreciation of his talent, has brought him to
the attention of the media. As a result, he has appeared on several
regional TV and Radio Stations, and had many articles about his vocal
fundraising efforts published in a number of regional Newspapers and
Magazines. Finally, in July of this year, David was delighted to appear at a major Music Festival in Milton Keynes alongside such names as Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra and ‘Pop Idol’ winner Will Young. Future engagements include performing at Xscape Leisure Park’s Milton Keynes, Leeds and Glasgow venues, the Centre MK’s Christmas 2005 launch on November 8th and a Music Recital with International Concert Pianist Linda Ang at the Purcell Room on London’s South Bank.
