My second Giussani guitar. I am happy to find
out that the response of this guitar has improved much with birds-eyed maple back/sides.
At first, the tone color did not have the sweet color of maple sound. Later I found out that
it was due to the unique saddle. After replacing the saddle with the conventional one,
the maple sound began to appear, especially in the treble side.
Personally, now with the conventional saddle, I like the treble of this guitar,
which I may describe as deep, round, but quite sweet and smooth. Other people describe
the sound as silky. The sustains are long, especially in the upper registers.
When the guitar came for the first time, the bass sound got on my nerves a little bit, especially the 6th string, which was a little
less powerful and muddy. Some experts advised me to keeping playing the guitar to expect
an improvement on the bass side. Now the bass turns out to
be very nice, with a very long sustain.
Giussani guitars are smaller in body and have thicker top/back/side than
normal guitars do. The projection is good, as it was tested by my friend.
Craftmanship and playability are still the same with
my first Giussani, very satisfying. The birds-eyed maple is also nice to see.
