The
Gates to the city of Valletta (capital of Malta). This is
one of the few ways in because the city is surrounded by
the sea, and by large stone walls which were built to defend
the city from the Muslim invaders.
A
photo of Valletta taken from a boat, showing one of the
sides of the city. The huge stone walls that surround Valletta
are visible.

This
shows the shipyards of Valletta, where large cranes are
maintaining an oil rig.
The
shipyards formerly served the British Empire during World
War Two, where Malta was an incredibly important factor
in winning the war.
