The story is set in the Star Wars universe, so if you are familiar with the ways of the world all the better, but if not that shouldn’t be any discouragement to reading. The story is descriptive enough that anyone having no idea what a lightsaber is can read through and understand everything easily.
At certain points certain items may be acquired and used later in the story (if the option is listed as available). This site isn’t advanced enough however to know if you have acquired an item or not (actually it’s hardly more than text and links) so it’s up to you to be honest if you have the item or not when presented with the option. I encourage you not to cheat and just play through the story multiple times. There’s enough variation for it to be entertaining to read through two, three, even four times.
