Introduction

Corik, a young man of 19, had lived independently for 8 years on the humble system of Topan. On his 11th birthday he left to set out on his own, tired of the boring and meaningless life at the orphanage he had been condemned to since he was but an infant. His parents had, when he was but 2, past away from illness; leaving him parentless. But it gave him, like most children without guardians, an independent nature. He learned what he could in his spare time and when he was able he left to fend for himself.
He left behind the one thing he valued, his friendship with Jethra. Corik had offered Jethra the chance to go with him, but at that time he hadn’t the nerve to leave. Ever since Corik had wished to one day reunite with his old friend, and together they could explore the entire galaxy.
Corik always had big dreams to be something, to make something of himself. His humble beginning gave him the desire to want more than a simple life on a grassland planet. He heard the stories time and again from traders who voyaged beyond the outer rim: the destruction of the Galactic Empire, the Republic’s new beginning, the reinstitution of the Jedi Council, the reestablishment of the Senate, even the formation of a new economic corporation. It was all fascinating, and Corik wanted to be a part of it. Those were the big things, the things that mattered and made a difference to a universe so big and vast.
Little did Corik know that his humble beginning and passionate aspiration could not have possibly prepared him for the conflict that awaited him…
