The Right Door

Corik walked over and tapped on the door, hoping someone would answer. He needed to find this guy, despite the anxiety building up inside him as he imagined the worst possible outcomes of the encounter.
As he opened the door he heard a slash and a loud yell from the voice of a grown man. He looked in to see a man with a missing arm bleeding on the floor, apparently dead. Above him was a Jedi, lightsaber in hand, the apparent cause of the mess. The Jedi was female, however, and that caught Corik’s attention. He had always imagined Jedi to be the tall valiant male figures, however this Jedi looked like a girl younger than him, given she stood not 5 feet above the ground. The only thing unique to her of any other girl was her metallic silver hair and striking gray blue eyes.
The Jedi moved forward and spoke in a casual yet very soft tone “What brings you here?” She followed Corik’s glance toward the body. “The Mandalorian? No biggie. Just a small matter of aggression.” If that was all it was, Corik figured he’d better watch how he acted. He responded.

“Unfortunately, now I have no leads to how I can get off this planet. He may have been interested in buying my ship." Corik said, pointing to the corpse.

“No need to worry, you won’t need to sell your ship if you’re planning on coming with me.” She answered.

“What?” Corik blurted in response to the statement. “Why?”

“You need a ride off this planet, apparently to nowhere in particular, and I have a ride. Convenient, right?”

“There’s more to it than that.” Corik said knowingly.

“Well, yes, there is. You have a strong connection to the Force, one we Jedi don’t see everyday.”

Corik wasn’t sure what to think. He liked her simple words, but he wasn’t sold by them. Could he really control the force? Could he perhaps become a Jedi? This was all hard to believe. However, given there was no other apparent opportunity to leave the planet, he agreed.
The Jedi introduced herself as Talia Quithar. She was an Anomid, a smaller humanoid race generally with silver hair and blue eyes. She said little more than that about herself, and instead asked a great deal of questions about Corik. Corik answered them eagerly, happy to be able to share with someone. He never mentioned how he had ended up on the planet, for he still wasn’t sure he could handle talking about it…
Perhaps this was his ticket to claiming justice on whoever was responsible for destroying his planet. It had to be. His drive depended on it. Soon after they left the apartment they had reached the ship that was apparently their ride out, wherever they were headed.
