Overload The Circuits

Corik felt the best way to destroy the imminent threat of the cannons was to overload their power source. He reached out his hand and pushed the power switch all the way up to full, quite certain it would blow the machine.
He found out all too quickly he was correct. The cannons became red hot in the center, began steaming, and blew apart. Simultaneously the machine was in disarray, switches bursting and circuits sparking. Almost instantly the control panel exploded, sending metal fragments flying to all angles of the apartment. Corik wasn’t thinking about the destructive force the explosion would send when he flew the switch, but his overlook cost him dearly. He managed to bend out of the way of a few flaming shrapnel pieces, but there was just too much, and he felt multiple thuds followed by an intense burning within his chest. The pain didn’t last long however, and he welcomed his quick slip into unconsciousness, despite where it would lead him.
