In the Door

Corik nodded towards the door and Jethra, the only one armed, walked towards it. Corik swung the door open for him, but there was nobody inside from what he could tell. They both headed inside cautiously.
The hall was narrow and plain; Jethra and Corik were almost shoulder to shoulder even while rubbing against blank gray walls. Most would expect such a building to be much more spacious, with all the traffic in and out of the hangar, but Corik knew better. This part of Topan didn’t exactly have the finest architects; in fact it barely had any.
Jethra pointed to the split at the end of the hall, heading left and right. They slowed their walk to a tip-toe and once they reached it, stopped and listened. From the right they could each faintly hear a voice shouting off in the distance. From the echo he guessed it might be from inside the docking bay. They needed to find a ship inside the hangar, but he wasn’t sure he was ready to confront whoever awaited them. Whatever he decided, he needed to do quickly, as he thought for sure the sound of those bombs was drawing closer.
