| Bruce Arena has named his 23 man World Cup squad almost two weeks out from the FIFA deadline, being the first coach to do so this world cup. Predictably the bulk of the squad is made up of MLS based (eleven) and English based (seven) players, however Keller and Cherundolo will find the surroundings more familiar as they already ply their trade in Germany. The USA are highly ranked by FIFA yet may not be considered favourites to progress in a group consisting strong European opposition in Italy and Czech Republic, as well as World Cup debutants Ghana who will be looking to cause some upsets. |
