| A mix of disappointing results saw Spain take only second place behind Serbia and Montenegro however they demolished Slovakia at home to take full control of their play-off and consequently progress 6-2 on aggrigate. All this despite not losing once during qualification. Six draws and six wins from their twelve matches at times frustrating Spanish supporters. Ultimatly they have progressed and will once again be a dark horse, waiting to see the light. Fernando Torres can't be accused of not finding the goal, scoring 7 times as Spain's top scorer. |
