| Few would have picked Poland to qualify from the group stages in a group that consisted of England and Austria. And while they failed to take top place, their results were strong enough to be the best second placed team in UEFA. A major factor in this is Poland's ability to score, at least once a match, which lead them to two strong victories over Austria. They could have finished top but for a 1-2 loss to England. Tomas Frankowski and Maciej Zurawski scored 7 times each to prove themselves as the lynch-pin in the Poland attack and will definatly find themsevles a key part in germany '06. |
