ENGLAND NEWS
They were expected to breeze through the group but only just topped it after a final round win over Poland.  And despite the English press and their ability to jump on any mistake (see 0-1 loss to Northern Ireland), England managed to prove they are still one of the best European teams.

Alot of help was through Chelsea's midfield master, Frank Lampard, who managed 5 goals in the campaign.  Newcastle striker Michael Owen chipped in with 4.  Both should find themselves in Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad come their trip to Germany.
