The Minor Characters
Centauri

 Regent Milo

The principal aide and Minister of Protocol to Emperor Cartagia who managed to survive his tyrannical reign by keeping as low a profile as possible and having a keen sense of what could be considered as dangerous around Cartagia, such as disagreeing with him.

He was named by Londo Mollari, newly elevated to the role of Prime Minister, as the Regent to the Centauri Throne until a successor to the late Emperor could be found. This allowed Londo to return to Babylon 5, away from reprisals for his earlier order for the Centauri to withdraw from Narn.

As a result of his being one of the most senior Centauri actually on Centauri Prime he was to have the dubious honor of being one of the first Centauri to receive a keeper. Shortly afterward he was taken ill and as the prognosis was terminal the Centaurum decided that they would name Londo Mollari as the next Emperor of the Centauri Republic.

Under the control of the Drahk Keeper, he brought about a war between the Alliance and the Centauri Republic. He was a tragic figure in the sense that he had the potential for greatness but missed it. His final words to Londo Mollari, seconds before the keeper fell away and thus ending his life, help convey that idea:

"I have to go now Londo. I have been many things in my life, Mollari. I have been silly, I have been quiet when I should have spoken. I have been foolish, and I have wasted far too much time.
But I am still Centauri and I am not afraid."

Kiron Maray & Aria Tensus

Kiron Maray, a cousin of Vir Cotto, in love with Aria Tensus, ran away from Centauri Prime with Aria, in order to avoid a arranged marriage. They fled to Babylon 5 to seek help from Vir Cotto. Kiron mistakenly believed that Vir Cotto was the Centauri Republic's Ambassador to Babylon 5.

Kiron, along with Aria was arrested on arrival at Babylon 5 when his credits were found to be stolen. They were released into the custody of Londo Mollari, who was initially prepared to send them both back to Centauri Prime, after informing them that love has nothing to do with marriage, and they must both sacrifice and keep up the arranged marriage traditions of the Republic.

However he softened his stance after Kiron was almost killed by a member of the Homeguard, and Aria was stunned by a Shockstick. Perhaps Londo's final change of heart came about after his conversation with Minbari Poet, Shal Mayan, in Medlab. He eventually arranged to have the pair placed in "Fosterage" with his cousin Andillo Mollari - a very great honour - telling them that when the period of fosterage was over they could chose whom they wished to marry.

Urza Jaddo

A Centauri lord and noble with the rank of Vocator who was also known as the hero of the Battle of Gorash. He was a long time friend of Londo Mollari through family acquaintance, their houses having been allied since the early days of the Centauri Republic.

Also, they were both members of the Kora Predo ( a Centauri dueling society - the name means "Corps of Freedom), although Londo had never beaten him in a fight. Urza Jaddo's Kora Predo name was Scou Tura, or "Silent Beast" and he was one of their finest swordsmen, well known for his banquets and an ability to consume brevari almost as legendary as his sword fighting skills.

As he grew older Urza Jaddo became disillusioned with the Centauri Republic, tiring of the quest for bloodshed, war and the political deceit that this entailed and was haunted by what he had seen at the Battle of Gorash, feeling more a murderer than a killer.

When he and his family were denounced as traitors to the Centauri Republic by Lord Refa he turned to Londo Mollari for assistance. Londo accepted immediately but later withdrew his offer when Lord Refa explained that it was too late to save Urza, and that an alliance might harm his own house as well. Londo did request that Refa do what he could.

On hearing this Urza forced Londo into fighting a marago (a duel to the death), with him, knowing that when he permitted himself to be defeated, he could trust Londo with the care his wife, Marillia, and family, who entered into Londo Mollari's protection upon his victory. (The rules of the marago state "the victor must accept the loser's family as part of his own.")

 Lady Ladira

A Centauri Lady, seer and prophetess, the aunt of Lord Kiro, on whose first birthday she foretold of his death by the Shadows.

This prophecy was fulfilled when Lord Kiro attempted to take the "Eye" back to Centauri Prime from Babylon 5. While on Babylon 5 Lady Ladiri had a vision of the destruction of Babylon 5 and shared this vision with Commander Jeffrey Sinclair, telling him that it was one possible future.

Lindisty

A Centauri woman, who through a prearranged agreement between Vir's uncle and Vir's mother, is to be, unknown to Vir, his wife. Lindisty appears all sweetness and light, in fact the perfect match for Vir, but there is a dark side to her character that only slowly emerges.

She presents him with a bound and gagged Narn on the floor of his room, and hands him a blade so that he can kill the helpless Narn. She giggles at his discomfort, explaining that when she lived on Narn after the war, she grew used to killing them. She explains that she had helped her father kill thousands of them including burning whole villages.

Vir is agast at her callous attitude, and her family eventually break off the relationship. She leaves Babylon 5 to return to Centauri Prime, with both her and Vir believing that the other is sick.

[Played by Carmen Thomas]

 Emperor Turhan

The Centauri Emperor who appointed Londo Mollari to the position of Centauri Ambassador to Babylon 5. He was to die onboard Babylon 5 in 2259, while attempting to create a peace between the Centauri and Narn races.

He had come to Babylon 5 in order to stand in a neutral place and apologise to the Narn for what his ancestors had done to them, and for what his father had done in personally ordering the execution of 100,000 Narn. But it was not to be. On his way to the reception, he suffered a heart attack and died in Medlab. Before he died he was to have one last wish fulfilled in that he finally saw a Vorlon - Kosh made the unusual move of visiting him as he lay dying.

He had reigned for around three decades, and as Lady Morella - his consort - was to say later
" His death became a door through which so much pain and suffering have entered".

His nephew Cartagia was appointed emperor on Turhan's death, as his own son had died in a boating accident some months earlier.
