Welcome to the Dave's Aquaria Tank.  My tank is a 37 Gallon high (30L x 12W x 22H) All-Glass Aquarium in Oak.  It is equipped with one Emperor 280 Power Filter, a Powersweep 226 Powerhead, an Ebo-Jager 150 Watt Heater, a Excaliber Hang-on (Venturi) Protein Skimmer.   The tank contains 30 lbs. of CaribSea Aragonite Substrate, and about 55 lbs. of Fiji Live Rock.  The tank was started
in August of 2003.  When first started, the tank was cycled with 45 lbs. of Fiji Live Rock.  In December of 2003, Ocellaris Clownfish were introduced and the tank ran with low maintenance.  Water is tested once every month and five gallon

water changes are performed every two weeks.  The tank currently houses three Ocellaris Clownfish, various soft corals, Turbo Snails, Bumble Bee Snails, Scarlet Reef Hermit Crabs, Dwarf Hermit Crabs, and a Coral Banded Shrimp.  The tank is maintained at an average temperture of 78 - 80 degress F in the summer and 76 degrees F in the winter.  The lighting unit was upgraded in January of 2004 from a standard oak hood to the Formosa JBJ Power Compact Lighting System.  (65 watt 10,000K daylight and 65 watt Actinic Blue.)  The skimmer has been upgraded in July 2005 from a Berlin Airlift to an Excaliber by Advanced Aquaria.  Mechanical Filtration is achieved from the Emperor 280 Power Filter and Biological Filtration is 60 lbs. of Fiji Live Rock.  Tank has been running successful according to these methods that I have established.
