Shahan & Son, LTD (www.shahanpaint.com) - A good friend of mine is the V.P. of this outstanding paint company. If you need a commercial paint contractor, check them out. (They don't do residential jobs)
DeVRY University (www.devry.edu) - If you are interested in getting a bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, look no further. This is by far the best college I have attended. The classes are small and the teachers are good. I have a friend who use to be a recruiter in the technology field. He informed me that most technology based businesses prefer a graduate from DeVRY over a graduate from a regular university with the same degree.
Yahoo! Geocities (www.geocities.com) - In case you didn't realize it, this is the FREE web site provider I use for this site. I have used a bunch of different free web hosts in the past, and this is by far the best of all. The web building tools, features, and add-ons are the easiest to use and offer the most options. Furthermore, the adds can be closed (I know of no other free web host that allows this).
My-Cast (www.my-cast.com) - Scattered showers today, but when is it going to rain where I am? Don't ask me how they do it, but this website can tell you what time it is going to rain, what tempature it's going to be, ect, ect, within 4 miles of where YOU are instead of just the city you are in provided by most websites.
Geocaching (www.geocaching.com) - This one is hard to explain. Geocaching is basically a treasure hunt where you get the coordinates of a "cache" and a couple of hints for when you are in the area. When you find the cache you write your name and your geocaching.com login in a log contained within. There are usually some little trinkets in the cache that you can take but you must replace what you take with something else. It's a fun thing to try if you get bored or are looking to do some sightseeing. It is also VERY helpful if you have a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver. I own a Magellan MAP 330X which I am very happy with.
X10 (www.x10.com) - I was very reluctant to put this link and the above banner here because of the extensive (and quite annoying in my opinion) popup campaign they are engaged in, but I crumbled under the pressure of monetary reward (I'm just a poor computer tech). On the other hand, they do sell a ton of cool wireless gadgets for very affordable prices. I own 4 of their X10 cams, as well as some other home automation stuff, all of which I am very happy with. Those who know me know that I would not put up a link for a company or product that I did not believe in. If you are at all interested and not yet completely put off by their popups, have a look at what they have. Plus, if you fill in the info on the page linked above, you get a discount voucher and if you buy something over $50, I get a discount voucher too. Just to let you know, they will send you email, but it's not bad. They don't fill up your inbox with junk.
DSL Reports (www.dslreports.com) - This is a great site to see if you are getting what you pay for from your broadband provider. There are all sorts of test that can be run, including speed and packet loss tests. They also have reviews for broadband providers, as well as tools and sugesstions to make your connection even faster.
