It's operating times are pretty varied but roughly Thursday-Monday from March 1 to October 30 and Friday-Sunday November 1 to March 1. Limited supplies. 2. Stage Stop Inn, 303 West McKeown, Patagonia AZ 85624, 520-394-2211. You can�t miss it since it�s the only one in town. It�s in the middle of the small downtown. Post Office � 520-394-2950, 100 Taylor Ave, 85624 Patagonia has a small grocery store too. 3. Kentucky Camp�s Bed and No Breakfast (oops sorry no shower). Call the Ranger Station at 520-281-2296 (www.fs.fed.us/r3/coronado/) . Fun overnight stop if there are 3-4 people in your group. Surprisingly, in this isolated, historic gold mine operation site, there�s a cabin that can be rented. It�s got beds, electricity, outdoor water and toilets but no shower. $50 a night. Mescal, AZ - Has a small convenience store just north of I-10 7. The Alpine Lodge (& Restaurant), PO Box 789, Summerhaven (Mt Lemmon) AZ, 85619, 520-576-1544. Note: the Alpine Lodge burned in the Aspen Fire in 2003. It will be rebuit. There's till a few expensive bed and breakfasts still operating. Also there's a couple of other cafes in Summerhaven. General Kearney Inn, 301 Alden Rd, Kearney AZ, 85237, 520-363-5505. Right in the midst of a wonderful downtown. The GK Inn has a good restaurant too. Groceries at a small store. About a mile away is Los Hermanos Restaurant and later have a Blizzard at the nearby DQ. Take a walk to downtown Superior to see a living ghost town. This will take a hitchhike of 10 miles south from where the AZT reaches the Lake. Limited groceries at the Marina Store located 1 mile SE of the Dam and near the Forest Service station. Post Office - 928-467-2215, Main St, Roosevelt, AZ 85545 12. Pine has quite a few shops, cabins etc but a local motel is now closed. A couple of miles north of Pine (and about 1000' higher) is the smaller town of Strawberry and the Strawberry Lodge 928-476-3333. Rooms are reasonable and the lodge restaurant has great pie. Limited groceries at a small store in Pine. Post Office - 928-476-3275, 3847 N. Highway 87, Pine, AZ 85544 13. Mormon Lake Lodge, South side of Mormon Lake AZ, 928-354-2227 (www.mormonlakelodge.com). A relaxing spot to rest with a lodge, steak house, store and post office. Or, go fish in a small pond and later rent a bike. Hotel Monte Vista, 100 North San Francisco St., Downtown Flagstaff AZ, 86001, 928-779-6971, 800-545-3068. A 75-year-old hotel in a funky downtown. Also, there are plenty of other places to stay in �motel city�. Grocery stores out the wazoo. Groceries - A small offering of candy bars, etc Post Office � none but you can mail post cards out. 17. Lodge on the North Rim, Grand Canyon. Call AmFac Parks and Resorts 303-297-2757. The North Rim Lodge is just like the lodges on the south rim except on a small scale. For some reason they make everyone wait until 4:00 PM until they hand out room keys. Kaibab Lodge. 18 miles from the north rim, along Highway #67, three miles west of the East Rim View Point. 928-638-2389. Has a restaurant and store too. Post Office - None 19. Jacob Lake Inn, Jacob Lake AZ, 86022, 928-643-7232. The inn is in the midst of this small village, which has a restaurant, store, and other amenities too. Post Office � There�s no post office but call the Inn and ask them to hold a package for you. 20. Kanab, Utah or Fredonia, Arizona. Both towns have several motels to choose from if you are looking for a room after finishing (or when starting) the Arizona Trail. Groceries are available too.
