So Who was Dave Shepherd?

Dave Shepherd, fondly known to most of us as "Sheppie", really was the guy that would give you the shirt off his back.  The guy who would and did so on many occasions, put aside whatever he was doing and rush off to the aid of his friends, no matter how frivolous the request, the time of day, or how bad the traffic was.

So who was Dave Shepherd and what was so special about him that leaves us feeling so bereft with the knowledge that he is no longer here?  It's difficult to define exactly what it was that made him stand out from the crowd.  His humanity towards mankind, his love for children .... Dave was just an extraordinary man who touched and enhanced so many of our lives by being there, by being himself, just being Dave.

Dave was well known and liked in skydiving and most recently scuba diving circles.  He sought every opportunity to indulge in either sport.  He had skydived at Skydive Elsinore, Perris Valley and explored the reefs off Laguna Beach.

Dave had fought several difficult personal battles and conquered them all.  He lived with the affliction of diabetes and was determined not to let it hold him back, especially from the sports he loved.  He had turned his life around,  also establishing a business with partner and close friend, Ron Richmond.  It seemed that life was really looking up for Dave.
