SEPTEMBER 2002
Dear All !

It's been awhile since we've updated this page but, as you have most likely gathered, life has rattled on and there hasn't been a lot to report.

I thought I'd do a quick update today before we head off on holidays - one of the few bits of news we have :-)

Dave and I are heading off to
Adelaide next week. We're taking one of the new boats to Melbourne - Spirit I (or II) - and we're going to drive to Adelaide. Our itinerary looks something like this: 1 night in Adelaide, 2 nights at Kangaroo Island, 1 night in the Barossa, 1 night in the Adelaide Hills, 1 night at Mount Gambier, 1 night at Warrnambool and 3 nights in Melbourne. We're particularly looking forward to the trip around the Great Ocean Road (the trip from Warrnambool to Melbourne) - people tell us it's really spectacular. We're hoping the weather will do the trip justice, mind you it will just be great to get away.

Dave sat his written exams in Hobart in September and recently in Sydney he had his vivas (oral exams).
HE PASSED!!! It's all over!! It's been quite a stressful time but I think Dave would be the first to admit that he's handled the preparation for exams better this time than he did his primary exam (a couple of years ago).

Kate's work at
Lady Gowrie Tasmania has been going well. The client load has certainly picked up. There is also a second Family Support Worker now in the service, Fran, who has been a great support and resource as well. Kate will finish from this position at the end of the year as we have decided to move to Burnie for 12-24 months (possibly longer). Dave has been offered a contract at the Burnie Hospital, which he more than happily accepted as he hasn't been terribly happy at the Royal Hobart Hospital. We move up there, all being well, around the middle of January 2003.

Well I think that's all for now.
Keep in touch!
                              Love,
                                      Kate & Dave

PS Dont forget to sign our guestbook - we love reading your entries (even if you have already signed it before). It makes us feel loved.
