I am currently working part time at the Royal Hobart Hospital and undertaking part time private practice as well.
I have previously spent time working at the North West Regional and Private Hospitals (respectively)). And in 2001 I worked at Treliske Hospital, Truro and Derriford Hospital in Plymouth - both in the UK. Whilst at Treliske I spent time working in neuro and paediatric anaesthesia, and cardiothoracic anaesthesia. I also was involved with oncall work covering the cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Derriford Hospital is a teaching hospital that caters for all specialities except neonatal surgery and paediatric cardiac surgery. The staff are pleasent and helpful. Facilities include a nearby gym with pool, a doctors mess, and aneasthetic coffee room. Unfortunately there isn't a registrar's room and the library is a little outdated however it does covers all areas and contains most of the major journals. |

I was born in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia in 1971. I spent most of my life growing up in a small town called Huonville in southern Tasmania. I graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Tasmania. I joined the Australian anaesthetic specialist training programme in 1999. I sat and passed the anaesthetic fellowship exam in September 2002. I gained my specialist qualification in 2003/2004. |

I have 2 brothers, Andrew and Michael. They both live in Tasmania. My parents continue to live in Huonville. Unfortunately Huonville, over the last 15 yrs, has lost its country town feel and is now more like a suburb of Hobart. |
