What have we been up to?
WE'RE BAAAACCCKKKK!!! Here are some photos we took whilst in London, Rome and Florence.
Hello!! It has been a few days since we returned from our two week holiday and so I thought I would update our home page. So much to tell - not enough room!!

In London, we managed to see Buckingham Palace, Westminster Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Nelsons Column, London Aquarium, Covent Garden, Tower of London, HMS Belfast, the Millennium Wheel (aka the London Eye), Piccadilly Square, St Paul's Cathedral, London Dungeon, Madame Tussaud's, London Planetarium, the Natural History Museum, and a London West End show  'Chicago'.

We headed to Rome on Friday 18th May, arriving there about 2.30pm. During our stay in Rome we went to Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum and Imperial Forum, the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, the Augustus Mausoleum, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, walked past the Palazzo del Guistina, the Castel San' Angelo, Trastevere, Isola Tiberina, St Peter's Basilica and Square, Vatican Museums, Santa Maria Maggiore, San Clemente, San Giovanni in Laterano, San Paolo fuori le Mura (St Paul's outside the walls), Aurelian Wall (including Pyramid of Gaius Cestius), Baths of Caracalla, Circo Massimo, and the Palatino (incl. Gardens). On Thursday morning we headed to Florence, for two nights. Dave and I headed to Pisa in the afternoon, by a local train (Regionale).

In Florence we managed to get into the Galleria dell' Accademia (to see the Statue of David) and also the Duomo (aka Santa Maria del Fiore). We also climbed the 414 steps of the Campanile (the Bell Tower near the Duomo) for gorgeous views of Florence. The other tourist attractions we went to were the Boboli Gardens (Italy's favourite gardens, begun in 1549), the Museo di Storia della Scienza (aka the Science Museum), Santa Maria Novella and the Museo Storico Topographico. The Science Museum contained items that were used by Galileo and Michelangelo (and others). The Science and the Topographical Museum made a nice change from looking at paintings and statues.

We headed back to London on Sunday 27th May. It was a bit of an epic getting home but we eventually got back to our flat in Plymouth about 11.40pm. A long day!

At the moment we have 10 rolls of film developing -  not all of Italy, but the majority is. We also took our video camera on holiday with us (obviously!) and we will be updating our home page with more photos taken whilst in London, Rome, Pisa and Florence. Keep an eye out for them!
