Project updates and changes
PROTO1

Proto1 has evolved into PROTO2.  The front suspension has undergone a complete redesign to eliminate weakness, flex and play which plagued my first design.  Now, the pushrods attach far out at the wishbones, so that they have more linear movement per unit angle change of the wishbone.  The new heavy-duty machined rockers are much more resistant to twisting than the old design, and use machined bronze bushes which are about three times the diameter of the old ones.  The shocks now have a longitudinal mount.  See
FRONT SUSPENSION for more, and pictures.

Also new is the
ground effect undertray, meaning that the Proto2 is now safe (as can be!) to run to its full capacity.  As of November 2002 testing at my local site will commence, although this will not be long enough to go to maximum speed.

Work is also continuing on the light-gate speed trap mechanism.  Problems arising from an oscillatory signal to the super-fast relays which operate the stop-clock need to be fixed, as the clock is repeatedly stopped and started which gives poor results.  I will try to sort this out in the next month or so - between work and running other things.

TWIN21

The Twin21 project truck is finished, see pictures and write-ups on this page.
