by Floaty(SQL) 'twas a prearranged descent that night. Two squirrels, Floaty and Slappy , decided that tonight had to be the night. They needed to have golden outfits, and they needed them NOW! Wheecht! They decided that the Cinderella Quest of Squirrels would occur before descent to dungeon level 16. This way, any failure would not result in loss of tp to 16. Floaty heard a voice coming from the catacombs. Slappy heard it as well and both of them descended to level 5 of the catacombs and telesearched for the stairs. Soon, they had found the source of the voice. A small imp was choking on a cough drop. Floaty kicked the imp and it spat fire. The whole area was in flames! The cathedral would go up at any moment! They had to escape! "There's too much smoke to teleport safely and I'm not even sure that I could see a portal if I were to cast one," said Floaty. "Verily," replied Slappy. "Quickly! let us escape this inferno! If we take off our metal gear we can run faster." They stripped off their chain mails and readied their bowstrings. Then they ran up the steps to level 4. The two squirrels quickly found the steps to level 3 and ascended. On level 3, tragedy struck. A long, narrow hallway went to unknown regions. Floaty followed Slappy down the hall but they were soon split up by a horde of skeletons. "Where are you? *cough* " yelled Floaty choking on smoke. "It's too late for me!" screamed back Slappy. Soon afterward came the cry of a murdered Squirrel. Floaty resolved that this inferno had to be beaten! She quickly ascended to level 2 and then to level 1. Once there she took many breaths. Smoke billowed out of the church and the way back was much clearer. Floaty donned her metal armor once again and charged back into the church. "Slappy! I'm coming back for you!" shouted Floaty though only 3 minutes remained until the cathedral would be totally destroyed. Floaty soon found her fallen friend amongst a horde of skeletons. In the middle of it all was their leader: The Undead King Leoric. Floaty leapt over the horde and hid in a room. She had to think fast. Blindly, she cast a portal hoping it would fall on her friend. Then she chanted the spell of resurrect. *creeak* The door to Floaty's hiding place had swung open! A bleach-white figure entered. A darkness surrounded him. His blade dripped with blood and had fur stuck to it. A small sticker was stuck to the handle of the sword, it read "Made in Hong Kong." "!WHEECHT!" screamed Floaty. She unleashed the power of Windforce on the fiend. King Leoric fell backwards away from the door. 5 of his minions entered. Floaty was horrified and threw the door shut with telekinesis. She then destroyed the skeletons. Leoric loomed overhead. "You should not have come back, Obi-wan *koo-ha* *koo-ha* " said Leoric. "Obi, what? WHEECHT!" Floaty delivered the final blow to the Skeleton King. Floaty then leapt into her portal and to safety. Just over 20 seconds were left on the clock. The Cathedral burned to the ground. Floaty found that Slappy was sitting near the portal. Her plan had worked. They were safe. (Note: Floaty was able to use her chain mail and tele/tp because she had completed the quest and cleared a path for smoke to escape the building. If you disagree with this then: wheecht! She completed the task nonetheless and saved her friend.) Actual statistics on the Cindy quest: It took 3 failed tries before the 4th game was able to be completed for the Cindy quest. 4 different games were used. Floaty and Slappy then descended to Hell. Floaty was the only one of the two with the ability to preform a Squirrelish Leap (Teleport) and thus she was the steps-hunter. (Three steps-hunting games were used until one was found where Floaty found steps to 14 and then to 15.) Floaty sent a portal to 15. With an astounding bit of luck, they were near lazarus's room and didn't have to trek half the level looking for it. Blue winged demons jumped out from behind a wall. They shot yellow, jiggling semi-orbs of a substance that burned like fire. (Could that be what is inside of Pop-Tarts?) The squirrel team stone cursed these evil witches and put an end to them with a slew of arrows. Soon the team came to Lazarus and slew him and his witches. After Lazarus' demise, floaty telesearched for the pentagram and found it. A portal was sent up from 16. Both squirrels arrived on 16 and couldn't have had a better level. The steps opened into a LARGE area, but there were few monsters around. The steps were directly east of Diablo's room and thus the squirrels only had to clear the area around room #3, which they did. They then flipped the switches and lured out Diablo. It took two deaths of each squirrel until they got a definite plan. Floaty told Slappy to run into a corner and stay put, if Diablo wasn't near her. Floaty then would find Slappy and stand next to her on that wall. Hopefully, Diablo would have found Floaty before Slappy. It happened that way. Floaty lead Diablo to Slappy, but both squirrels were already in position with bows ready. Diablo rarely got an apoc off. He got the WIND knocked out of him with lots of FORCE. That asset was great to the Squirrels. If Floaty had not mastered the art of Wind, these squirrels would have had a much nastier time. Floaty's potion flasks were running dry. Floaty herself had no mana and no more than 50 hit points left. She was afraid that she might die but that fear left quickly. The Dark Lord of Terror clutched his chest. He pulled out an arrow and with that arrow came an endless flow of blood. It poured on the stone floor and eroded the rock. The two squirrels then slit up his hide and made it into two beautiful golden suits. They walked into ogden's tavern and sat down at the Variants' table. Everyone was in awe, and by everyone I mean the bots as no one else was around. But the bots are always like that so I must write this brag-post as to draw as much attention to this feat as possible! !WHEECHT! [o: *FLOAT* :o] "Wheecht!" -Floaty many, many times after being stun-killed by Lava Maws while telesearching. Q: Where'd you get that snazzy golden suit? -You don't want to know. Q: Why not? -Because then I'd have to make a snazzy suit that's shaped like a "Q:" Q: What do you mean by that? -*readies bow* Q: I mean... do you want me to not ask that question? -Too late. *TWANG* Q: AHH!! I have an arrow in my head! *runs around* -Have some more *many, many, many twangs* Q: *falls down* -Teehee. *gets out the skinning knife* |
