by Yurup Hi, I am Popi a member of the Beyond Naked Mage family and today I would like to proclaim the story of how I encreased in rank within my family. So without further ado... Popi(BNM) This was the equipment I used during the trip to slay the evil that lived in the nightmare realm, I still use these at the moment. In my right hand there was a dagger of trouble(-6), on my right finger I had a ring of the Pit(-3), on my left finger there was a ring of Trouble(-6) and as an amulet I have an amulet of Pain(+4). First floor When I entered the crack in the ground near Pepins house I knew that I should face the forces of evil in small groups of only one or two at the time. Having gained some advice from other explorers that went into the crack, I knew that the worst enemies on this floor where the asid spitting Lava Maws. When they get close to you while you are not properly protected they can rip a man apart within seconds. And I was not what you might call a tin can. Walking slowly to not let too many creatures see me. I heard a rather disturbing noise. It was one of the Lava Maws a fellow explorer told me about. Quicly I cursed with the spell of living stone and blasted him with a controled stream of Chain Lightning. The second type of foe I encountered was a lovely woman. Little did I know that tis woman was one of the most evil creatures of hell, A Succubus! When I saw the red ball comming at me I knew I had to think fast and fired a Fireball at here. She did not seem to be impressed about my best spell, so I thought I should let her see it again. She dropped to the ground and I had won. After walking about and encountering a few more of these two creatures, plus a creature that called himself a Maelstorm. I found the stairs down to the next floor. Second floor Ahh, the second floor. It seems like I'm getting closer and closer to my objectieve, slaying The Dark Lord. While being absentminded about getting closer, a blue ball comes my way and hits me. "Hey that hurts!" I screemed but a second ball already came my way. I decieded to see who was trying to kill me and encounterd a Snow Witch that was shooting these balls at me. Asking her why she did that, she refused to awnser so I disposed of here with a Fireball. Another ball came my way. This time it was a red one. It proved to be a Scuccubus that was shooting at me. I dealed with this floor very slowly and found the exit after searching almost half the floor for it. Lazarus Lazarus has kidnaped a young boy from the town of Tristram and I was determinded to get him back savely and then continue to destroy The Dark Lord. I encountered a Hellspawn and disposed of it very easely with a fireball. I was thanking The light that it wasn't a Soul Burner from wich I have heard the where immume to all sorts of magic. Moving to the west I encountered Lazarus his private room who was buzy preparing a dark ritual of some sort. Eventhough I wanted to rush in and take the boy to a save place, I knew that it would probely just get me killed. My first move was to clear the area around Lazarus his room and then deal with the trator of Tristram. Then I encountered Doom Guards wich required so much fireballs to kill I'd never kill them in time before they got to me. So I used The Stone Curse spell on them like I did on the Lava Maws. After the area was cleared I desided to lure out the two witches that where preforming the dark ritual with Lazarus. When he saw me he did send out his two guards but did not like I planned stop the ritual. Unable to do anything for the boy now, I disposed of the guards with Fireball and prepared for vengance! I knew the Advocates that also guarded Lazarus where immume to magic so I called my friend the Golem to help me. He disposed of the Advocates while I cursed them and then it was time to pay back Lazarus for what he did. Cursing him with the Living stone spell while using Fireball to kill him Lazarus did not stand a chance. With him out of the way I could return to the magic pentagram and slay The Dark Lord. The End of The Dark Lord The pentagram took me to a wonderfull position on Diablo's floor, just next to his room. I've heard that he wont open the doors by himself but that you must first switch levers in three rooms to open him. so first I went to the east. I encountered some Advocates and Blood knights but they where disposed of using Stonecurse and Fireball or with the Help of my Golem. Then I saw true the holes in the wall that there where two levers in the room that I decieded to pull with my power to move objects. Once the two levers where pulled Diablo's room opened and I went to town to prepare. My strategy was to use the Holybolt spell to lure the vile beast out of his room and then use the wall of fire to finish him off. So as it was sayed so it was done. Once removed from his room I began to create a Firewall that was as powerfull as ten firewalls combined. My strategy worked an The Dark Lord was defeated. All hail the light! -Popi(BNM) Ps. This little adventure realy showed me that a mage can realy do any level at any given time. Cant wait to get my third dot. Yurup |
