by KingofPain Been awhile KingOfPain(BNW) had seen any action since his 3@30 victory. One thing for sure, a BNW is not a character one would want to level to 50 ;p I KingOfPain(BNW) have trekked to the deepest hell of hell where the demons of hell fear me. I have defeated Diablo time and time again and yet he escapes from eternal annihilation. Rumor has it that Diablo can be banished forever if he is killed by a weapon of corruption if... If Diablo's will is also weaken by killing all his minions in front of him (a.k.a. Retribution). When a weapon of Corruption strikes the killing blow to the Dark Lord and remain buried in him, it will drain his magical essence, preventing him from possessing another host. Alas, I know all too well if I am to wield such a weapon, I would lose all my magical abilities. I cannot even cast a simple Heal spell. Worse, my ability to hit will be severely hindered, so much that I have no hope in getting in a swing at the Dark Lord at all. I would need to utilize other magical item(s) to regain what I have to sacrifice when wearing a whole set of Corruption items. However, we (my twin KingOfPain(BNM), Rainsong(BN AMZ) and I) fear that using any magically enchanted items against my training might corrupt my alignment. It is for this reason that the Master of Corruption (MoC) quest was designed to test my worthiness and zeal to perform such a task. All monsters from 13 to 15 must be killed, then sacrifice a Corruption item at Laz's altar. Clvl 30 Str - 182/182 Magic - 50/50 Dex - 60/60 Vit - 100/100 Life 278-278 Mana 79/0 AC - 27 Tohit 80 Dmg 60-69 Resist - 0 Equipment: Amulet of Pain +4 dfe Cap of Corruption - 2 AC Hard leather armor of Corruption - 12 AC Buckler of Corruption - 1 AC Bastard sword of Corruption Lvl 1-8 was performed in the tradition of a BN streak - find stair then go to next level. I was not going to do full clear until I get to hell, but I didn't find stair down till the end of the lvl 9 so I decided to do full clear from there. Plague Wrath and the gang made me took my first drink, in fact, 3 in total. Only one pot was used against Red Storms and Frost Chargers on 11. Another pot consumed on 12 against Black Knights and Flayed Ones. In retrospect, I should have dumped all the potions on 13 and pick up the 20 or so reds I've found on the way. Dlvl 13, Black Knights and Cave Vipers are no problems when isolated. One pot used. Dlvl 14, Doom Guards and Succubus. Few pots were used to gain a foothold. Not fun being block locked by Bloodstars when fending off knights. Dlvl 15, Hellspawns and Balrogs, ouch! Choke points don't even work with these fire breathing demons, they can fry you from tiles away and their double attack really put my blocking ability to test. My 27 AC is Autohit, for them. The Hellspawns might not hurt as much individually, but it felt like 75% of their stars got through my blocking and they are much smarter and harder to stunlock than Succubus. Too bad I don't have a bow of Corruption. Laz and company wasn't much of a problem with enough patience to lure the Advocates out one at a time. Laz was cornered easily without taking a fireball from him at all. After the level was cleared and Laz dead, the MoC ritual was performed. I laid my cap of Corruption upon the altar and set a holy fire on it and headed toward the pentagram. The MoC accomplished :) All drops were junks except A Hellspawn dropped an AGPOS 150/16. Blood Lust dropped a Gotterdamerung. Up for grabs if anyone has use for them. I just have to take a peek at 16 to see what monsters are there ;) Besides, I thought this maybe a good time to take a stab at the Barbarian King title and clear 16 too. 14 pots left was not enough to do the job. After killing Gorash and clearing Q1, with my last 11 HP, I decided Diablo would live for another day and walked up to town.
