A Solace
To the Special Teachers and Parents
by Darlina N. Bautista

with one of my tutees God appoints the coming in and out of man,
The child born and the one gone, as He planned;
He knows each one from the day he was made,
All will become as He predestined.

As in the coming of a special child,
That may cause you to stop and ask;
But lo, think! For when God appoints his birth,
He has chosen you for a special work.

Welcome thus the child,
As you would anyone so fast;
But be careful as this is no ordinary child,
He has to be taken cared of, be steadfast.

He will not be like most,
For his cup may be too small or too huge;
So then like a party host,
Fill his cup to the brim, to the uppermost.

Fill him with good teachings,
Model him the right things;
Teach him to decide and discern,
Facilitate positive values acquisition.

When in time, from these he depart,
Confused and baffled, deviate he would start;
Bring him back to the right,
Structure your instruction, structure his path.

Learn as you yourself need,
Look out for his motives;
For long he has been exposed,
To the different elements of this orb.

For his life is not to be taken in isolation,
His life and ours, we form the constellation;
Each one affecting each other,
We form the picture of the world in order.

He has a story to tell,
A history that you actively indwell;
Every act he does, and so do you to him,
Are accumulated, affecting his future movements.

Strive therefore and never lose heart,
Take the challenge, fight the good fight;
For great is the prize that awaits you in God,
For taking care of His special child!
