| It comes on slowly, sneaking up on me. Spreading out from my central core. Feel the muscles slowly tighten, but they won't release. Tighter, tighter. The pain starts to grow. It simmers just beneath the surface. Waiting to explode. Bam! It triggers. Searing pain ripples down my spine. Double over in agony. It hurts! It hurts! The burning settles to an ache, resides deep in my bones. I know what's coming Relax, I must relax. Slowly, slowly tense... Release...tense...release... Hell has started now. Spasms slowly build up and down my spine. Muscles pulled like rubber bands. Slow, strong tensing makes my entire body move. Sharp quick bursts make my eyes well in pain. Keep working. Don't think about it! Mind off the pain...off the pain. Slowly...slowly...release. Slow fade, hour long.... Slow down Further and further apart. Slowly stop. Squeeze my eyes shut with pain. Ache will settle deep in my back. But it's over. It's over. |
