Heart in Hand
I hold my heart in my hands,
see, look, it's trembling and shaken.
See the scars and the stitches,
and pieces out of it have been taken.

I hold my heart out in my hands,
look world, here it is for all to see.
Shoot your arrows and stab your knives,
beat it down until there's none left of me.

I hold my heart in my hands,
my feelings written across its skin.
Tatooed deep into my its sides,
just waiting to be scarred again.

I hold my heart to you, in hand,
take it and do what you will.
Turn around and walk away,
with my hands outstretched, I'm here still.
