Driven out of their lush oasis by the barbaric humans, the Children of the Desert had been wondering the world for a little over a year, until they found others of their kind two seasons ago. They were once a spiritual society that relied on one whom they believed to be their High One, Akasha, incarnate. Their leader, Seles, was killed by the humans without giving birth to the next incarnation.

Nlatri had been a ceremonial dancer, one of the best, and in battle it became apparent that what had been concidered little more than an intricate dance with weapons was far superior to their hunters skill. Because she was the first to use the sacred dance, and thereby save some of their lives, and was the most skilled left to them she was voted the new leader, despite her protests. Had there been more of them left alive it would have been possible for them to take back their home, but less than 20 remained, not enough of them skilled in the dance.

In a land vastly different from their own, they survive, hoping that the drama they have stumbled into will not be the end of them, yet determined to make a home near these others like them. Should humans find their way here they hope that these other elves will be of great help.
